What a nice guy sending you all those cards all nicely packaged and in sleeves. Both of them took time out of their day and shipped them to you wanting nothing back. Good people.
I have that paperback version of Empire Strikes Back. I found it on a magazine rack at a gas station in 1980 just before the movie came out. So I was the first kid in my middle school to know Vader was Luke's dad. Five years ago I found my copy again in a box in the attic.
With great power comes great responsibility. Way to use your recognition for such a great cause. And count me as a Quasar fan! Close to finishing the run.
That signed Superman for All Seasons from Has Been comics was awesome. Tim Sale and Jeph Loeb are my favourite comic creators so I wouldn’t have been able to pass that up
I love that SW 41 cover for the same reason - the Falcon gets treated like a character, which it should. Great pickup. You're doing a great thing for two excellent causes. I hope to come by as I've been meaning to head to Hasbeen and this is a great reason to finally do it.
Wow!! Another great video and awesome haul of stuff. Good luck with your fundraiser. If I lived closer I’d definitely go check it out. The Brother Voodoo comic is something I’ve been wanting for my PC. Keep up the great job. 😎
Leonardo Micro Series 1 is arguably one of the single best issues of Eastman and Laird’s run! Glad to see people still appreciating it. Also a sucker for Loeb/Sale’s books…great job Mike!
On your recommendation I stopped in to Hasbeen over the summer when my family and I were visiting the area. Picked up some great books and had a wonderful time chatting with Rik. Hope the event is a huge success!
Lol i really want that Quasar #17 now! Lol "Buried Alien"😂 As far as your Event.. Good luck!! If i didn't live by Buffalo i would def show up to support the cause!
Cheers, Mike! Donating the proceeds to such a great charity... you're an amazing guy, my friend. I hope there's a fantastic turnout for the event. I still haven't read Kevin's Spider-Man run, but I loved Guardian Devil. He really gets what makes Daredevil awesome.
7:44 I was delighted when you showed this book off, as it has a special place in my heart. FF #61 was the first Silver Age book I ever picked up when I was a kid, and it was a pence variant too. I’ve since sold it and bought a higher-grade copy (a cents copy, which here in the UK has a similar appeal to me as the pence variants do for you), but it’s a major reason why Sandman is my favourite villain, the FF is my favourite Silver Age book, and I think it also marks the moment I went from a fan to a collector. Thank you for bringing back a great memory!
My favorite of your pickups was the Quasar being a fan of the Flash. Just a thought, for larger participation on the charity event for next year: announce it a little earlier and open it up to mail-in donations or store purchases since not everyone can make it but may want to donate and be entered in the raffle. Thanks for the entertaining video.
Cool I like your channel. Thanks. I don’t even collect comics not since I was a boy. I still have them. We are around the same age so I like watching a man like us having a passion for a hobby like this. I can’t collect anymore. I have too much stuff already and I don’t want to catch the bug lol.
I was at RICC, absolutely horrible show this year I won't be back. But JRJR was such a gentleman and a really great guy to meet. He was so generous with his time with me as well, told me some incredible stories of his time in th bullpen. We also talked about his father's legacy as well. It was such a delight. Then I met Fabian Nicieza and he was an arrogant spiteful jerk. Nick's is a great shop I go there often. Love your channel. You need to post your calendar of upcoming shows! I get frustrated seeing these amazing shows AFTER you've already been! I'm about 2 years back into the hobby and need to rediscover the good shows around New England. Plus, as a fan, I'd be happy to shake your hand and thank you for your hard work.
Hi Mike, another great video. Nice to see the U.K. 10d books. Knowing you like U.K. variants check out our very own Alan Class comics, his books were the very first place we could see some Marvel stories back in the ‘60’s and in glorious B&W! December sees the release of a book, in which Alan is very much involved, dedicated to his publications 😃
Great video. Thanks for all the work you’re doing for this community and your community. But you didn’t address the elephant in the room. What happened to your thumb?
@@twatson8709 haha funny you noticed. When I was opening that first package I cut myself pretty bad. I flirted with the idea of keeping it in the footage but thought it was too hardcore for LMC, thus the random bandaid that shows up a few minutes into the video. Good eyes!
Hey Mike, I just got into comics that last year. Watching your videos has fueled my passion and helped so much with insight on buying comics, I can’t thank you enough! Will you be selling the shirts online? I live in the Midwest but would love to support your cause and rep your shirt, it could be a good conversation starter to get more people into the hobby. Thanks again!
@@nic2280 thanks for the great comment! At this time we are only selling them in person as we only made a limited number specifically for the charity event. But if we go through them and people really want more, I may have more made for a future even and I’ll have to figure out a plan to ship. So at this time no, but hopefully in the future!
@ thanks Mike! I really appreciate the response! and I really love this event your putting on if I lived in the area I’d be sure to stop by till next time I will keep looking for comic books in strange and unusual places!
Hi Mike......lol...I sent the 2nd set!! Mark....same guy who sent you the SDCC Rocketeer t-shirt!! Check your email about a month ago (filtered out??)...there's more back story.
Yeah so I'm up here in Canada where no one wants anything to do with comics.. Went to the only two places that sell in my town to see if their interested in a collection. Not only did they not want to rip me off as expected but they won't buy anything for any price... Thinking of having a colorful bonfire.
I remember it took me ages to get Brothervoodoo no 1 it was a classic racist stereotype and it was a painfully boring read issue 2 didn't get much better!
So this couple sells comics online, has multiple runs they’re working on, but needed you to come help them price things? That makes no sense at all. Also, do you flip? I heard you say about a couple “ I may keep this one”…just curious. Do you try to double your money, or is it whatever you can make? Just curious how this flipping stuff goes in the comic world. I’ve only ever collected to read
@@thewalruswasjason101 I wasn’t pricing them for the couple, I was pricing them for my friend who wanted to know what a fair offer was. As for “flipping” I very rarely sell books and when I do it’s usually cheap $1 books. So I’m not the person to ask, I’d much rather trade my extra books than sell them.
Hi Mike. Thank you for spreading awareness for muscular dystrophy association and toys for tots ❤

Alex Ross is one of my favorite artists in comics. He has done a ton of ironman covers.

Great video as always. I got a kick out of the Quasar. That is a great quirky series that you can get the whole run from dollar bins.

From $10 up to 30 right now

That “ first appearance “ of yoda is first cameo. Like hulk 180, asm 299
Series 2, coming up whenever Loblaws releases them!! Stay tune 😊
I got some of those cards. They're very cool.
@Bel_Izeard for sure they will be coming out with series 2. There was no Spider-Man, Daredevil, X-Men etc....Do you have the complete set?
