Your format and teaching style is fantastic mate. Perfect amount of detail and conveyed really well. That's a skill on its own. Having a single series to work through for beginner stuff without jumping from random video to video is a godsend. Good stuff. I'm up to #6 so far, keep 'em rolling!

Finally someone who explains calmly, efficiently, clearly... And you don't show off. Really good, thank you! ------ Terminology wasn't always explained, but MIDI stands for "Musical Instrument Digital Interface", and, CC stands for "Continuous Controller" ;)

Hello there, just wanted to say thank you for putting these out. I am just getting started with Ableton Live. Watching your beginner series really helped make the whole process less intimidating to get going with music. Please continue to make more of these. I really like your explanation approach!

Best beginners video by far. Most I've come across start with crazy presets which I don't know how to mimic. This was great for opening Ableton in default. I learned a ton. Thank you so much!

Thanks Taetro! I feel really fortunate after struggling with Live for a few months that I found your channel. Your Ableton series is clear, thorough, and well-paced. With each topic so far I've found myself going on long tagents, often to the point of completing projects which were in limbo until I understood the tools to realize that particular vision. I've also enjoyed a few of your product reviews. Right now I'm mapping my Arturia Minilab MKII, and thinking about a UHOST to go BLE. You do great work, so thanks again!

I have an Arturia Keylab Essential 88. I can get the keys to work just fine in Ableton. The knobs sort of work but they are extremely wonky. I have to turn the knobs counter-clockwise to increase values, and when I turn the knobs clockwise, the value jumps straight to zero (even with the slightest turn of the knob). Also, the DAW command center doesn't work for navigating Ableton at all, and some of the buttons just give me more key tones. I'm pretty sure I've tried every combination of Ableton's preferences, but the above description seems to be the best I can get.
Just played with it some more and now I can get the command center to work fine (can navigate the tracks and clips), and the knobs are working smoothly but are only linked to the panning of each track. And now my keys aren't working and I'm not getting the orange light for MIDI input anymore. No matter what I can't seem to get everything to work at the same time. Please send help lol. BTW I'm new to both MIDI controllers and Ableton.

In the time I have invested in studying AL11, I could have written, recorded and mastered a dozen songs in GB. First and second impressions are that AL is needlessly convoluted. I am invested though, and am really hopeful the investment pays off.

Lovely video as always.. I got the launchkey, but i think you or Sanjay or someone had said it in some video, that we won't be using the knobs as much as we think we will.. and now i realise its true.. I don't particularly enjoy controlling volume with it.. The devices sometimes.. but certainly not as much as i thought i would.. gotta change it to pickup mode though, maybe then I'd enjoy it more.. one small nitpicky gripe i have which might get solved with the pickup mode is that when I am hitting the 1st row 1st pad, my finger accidentally touches the 1st knob and messes the volume of the track.. Also i wish there was a way to change defaults on it.. like i would rather have it defaulted to devices or even custom rather than on volume.. and the pads on drum mode rather than session mode.. hopefully with an update..

Great series buddy! Digging it till now. Had a question - I did the midi mapping of reverb auto filter and delay like in the video, and works well with the selected track, but when i change the selected track to track 2 , the nobs were changing the device with the hand sign on, so i re mapped the nobs to other options for the new selected track, but now the same nob is changing the praramenter assigned to it for track 1 and as well as track 2.

Hi TAETRO, first, thank you so much for the video. Second, I am seriously want to learn how to use Ableton Live with the MPK mini. So, would you consider offering a one-on-one tutoring (not free tutoring)? I am about to purchase Ableton Live Standard but still still hesitate because I am an absolute dummy when come to digital music. I live in California, I play guitar (kinda intermediate), I have little experience with Audacity (very little), and I have some knowledge about music theory. What I want (for now) is to record my guitar and vocal then add a few instruments to it. I also want to add some effect to the vocal so it can sound half decent. Please let me know if you consider it. Thank you in advance.

You said in your video that you have a separate tutorial, where you show all the Launchkey features in Ableton.
Could you please give us the link? There are so many Launchkey videos on your channel that I'm absolutly unsure which one's the right one.
    Thank you very much!
