- As part of MINExpo 2012, Caterpillar hosted several demonstrations of the newly expanded mining product line for customers from around the world at the Tinaja Hills Demonstration Center in Arizona.

Im Bryan Dumaresq i visited the Tinaja Hills Demo grounds in June of 2006 for a Childrens wish trip. i had a great time with everyone there, great group of people who really know their stuff really enjoyed getting to operate the various pieces of equipment, i still have a great interest caterpillar construction and mining equipment. thanks
I have got to operate a 980, 988, 990 and 992g loader. Very fun to operate. Did it for 12 years.

I was always of the opinion 100% was the max, which was mentioned with regard to bucket shape and size. If 100% bucket is perfect, then the 105% bucket has to be magical right?

They would have to enlarge the bucket by 80 centimeters more ... so the capacity is better and the loader can hold the .. 988f and 990

Are you going to have another product demo in MINExpo 2016 in Vegas? If yes, how can I register to attend?
Thanks for your response. I teach surface mine design and planning at the Pennsylvania State University (Penn State). I was wondering if there might be a possibility to take a group of mining engineering students, as a guest group, to the demonstrations. It will be a unique opportunity for them, as tomorrow's mining engineers, to see all the equipment in one place. Please let me know if an official communication may be needed/helpful.
They will be here at CONEXPO in March 2020 but they are doing a demo in AZ the week after the CONEXPO

Wish the mine I’m at would go 💯 CAT. I love them all of them. Run D10s 11s and 994k now. Anything cat and I’m a happy miner.

1 Exalted is He, in Whose hand is all power, and He has power over all things.
2 He it is Who created death and life, that He might try which of you is best in conduct. He is the Mighty, the Forgiving.
3 He it is Who created the seven heavens in pairs. You can not see any contrast in the creation of the Merciful, so direct your gaze to see if you see any gaps?
4 Then, from time to time, direct your gaze, and your gaze will return to you humbled and helpless.
5 We have adorned the nearest heaven with candles, and made them throwers against the devils, for whom We have prepared a painful punishment.

11 Thus they confess their sins; the dwellers of the Fire are far from mercy.
12 Those who fear their Lord without seeing it, for them is forgiveness and a great reward.
13 But hide yourselves, or speak your word openly; indeed He knows what you conceal in your hearts.
14 Does not He Who created, when He knows that it penetrates the depths of secrets, He knows the details?
15He has made the earth suitable for you, so walk through its parts and enjoy His bounties, for to Him is the future.
16 Are you assured by Him Who is in the heavens that the earth will not shake when it shakes?
17 Were you sure of that which is in the heavens, that He would not send upon you a tempest of stones? Well, you will understand what My punishment is!
18 Even those before them disbelieved, but what was My punishment?
19 Have they not seen the birds above him with open arms, and when the wings are folded, no one holds them in the air except the Almighty. He is the One who sees and knows everything.
20 Who is your army that can help you but the Merciful? It is true that the disbelievers are found in a great deception.

23 Say: He it is Who created you, and endowed you with hearing, sight and mind, but you give thanks a little.
24 Say: He it is Who created you and multiplied you in the earth, and to Him you will be gathered.
25 And they say: When will this promise be fulfilled, if ye are truthful?
26 Say: "Only Allah knows, and I am only a warner to you."
27 "When they see it (Hell) approaching, those who disbelieve will have their faces disfigured, and they will be told, 'This is what you asked for.'
28 Say: Tell me, if Allah takes away my soul and those who are with me, or has mercy on us, who will protect the disbelievers from the painful punishment?
29 Say: He is the Beneficent, We have put our trust in Him, and in Him we put our trust, and you will know who is the loser.
30 Say: Tell me, if your water is lost in the depths, who will bring you on the surface of the earth?,

It really bugs me that people erroneously call track bulldozers tractors. For crying out loud tractors work on farms not quarry's or mines or construction sites
Still incorrect name, people erroneously and sometimes ignorantly (pardon the bluntness) call construction vehicles even those without tracks "tractors". and might i add people also erroneously call loaders bulldozers. So bottom line even if it has tracks it doesn't necessarily mean it has the title "tractor". The correct title for that machine is Bulldozer or Dozer.
I’ve been in this game 40 years and always called them tractors!

A tractor is any machine whose primary purpose is to provide traction, whether it has tracks or wheels. It is only a Bulldozer if it has a bulldozer blade, regardless of whether it has tracks or wheels. All track-type bulldozers are therefore both tractors and bulldozers. If in doubt, refer to Caterpillar's parts list.

legit! a friend of mine's dad works for cat, at a dealership, we visit him every so often and the latest models are always sitting in the yard, a lot in model design and technology built into the equipment has changed since 2012.
The 'Mine Star has to be one of the ultimate'Radio Controlled Model right? If I had a few billion I would get all or most of what is demonstrated here, buy myself an almost finished quarry or one that maybe will not be worth a normal Mine operation investment to start from the first ground cut, and play with my toys entirely at my own whim, having Toy Weekends' for all my friend!
id like to see that loader rip dirt that hasnt just been laid down for the expo

Hi to anyone here who can help. I live in the UK at the moment, and have not been to the States for a while, can anyone tell me what this man talking over the video means and he mentioned it a couple of times and I have only ⅓ finished, when he says "Our Tires are very Limited." What is meant here, that there is not enough or tires are limited in what they can usefully be expected to do in an off-road Mining situation?

Over spill from 730 is a mess to work area all to be cleaned up hence yet another machine, excavator driver needs a lesson
Used to work with a Cat not work on a Cat. That has changed now, we can't keep them running. The Electronics suck and they don't have the experience to fix it. At least not in Cincinnati. They have gone preditory on my 30 year company, getting out of Cat!!!!!!
