His scope is bigger, his imagination more varied, and most importantly, you can actually read his stories without apparent effort. To use an odious contemporary expression, Poe walked so Lovecraft could run. Still need to read Goblin Market. By your review, it sounds fantastic!
@@milesknightestrada3286 I love both Poe and Lovecraft, but in both cases I think their cultural impact is better than their actual prose. Of course, there are a few stories by each that I do return to every couple of years and think are wonderful.
