I'm really loving the soft goods cape, I wish Hasbro would do more of that across their lines. Also, if they're going to do Crystal Ball, make him an "updated" version, like Raptor. I never thought I'd think Raptor was cool, but here we are
All those gooy weapons, and alot of the first classified figures are scaled down nerf guns. There was a never executed plan to market a line of GI Joe nerf guns.
I was surprised to see the Cobra Officer torso used for the Twilight Guard. Every other officer re-color we got had the trooper torso. I just assumed that Hasbro lost the die. The Crimson Guard are already supposed to a cult-like organization, fully dedicated to Cobra Commander himself. But considering how Fred VII tried to kill him, and the fact they sided with Serpentor during the Cobra Civil War, maybe the Twilight guard is a correction and revision. Perhaps the Twilight Guard are Cobra Commander's most fanatically loyal followers? I don't know anything about COIL other than I think it is an offshoot organization that Serpentor joined when he left Cobra (maybe?) I could be misremembering. Creepy Cult-Leader Crystal Ball does sound interesting!
I got this set,The Twilight Guard is the only reason to get this set. But if you want more than one, you are screwed im not paying 50+ to get more Twilight Guards. 🤨
I don't know how exactly to explain it, but the Twilight Guard is just a little to eccentric looking for my taste. I hesitate to use the term "over the top", because there are a lot of over the top figures I like just fine. I guess it's just too much on one figure for me... the color combo, the cape, the gear, the DAPs, it's like a bad kitbash. The Gold Head Steel Brigade is goofy, but it's dialed back just enough that it doesn't bother me. Other than the blue bipod. Where the heck did that idea come from? Lol! I'll probably pick up the set just for him, though.
That is absolutely Grunts Belt. And it's weird because he has a drop leg holster and then that like cross draw belt holster but they only give you 2 Pistols despite the figures having 3 holsters between the 2. I think the Twilight Guard should have had a new or different head. Make this new thing something actually new.
Yeah, not really loving the BOLD accent colors in the guns, and heck even the purple on the Twilight Guard. Black/grey, with some subtle orange accents would have been sufficient.
Great review of the bundle. I was bummed only 2 pistols w/ 3 holsters between to 2 figures. Nice display of all the steel Corp helmets… What’s your thought on a battle damaged Steel Corp helmet/head sculpt? 🤔
When moving down his belt I noticed its got a holster (was on the back of the belt on mine) and a pack holder but nothing to put in it? Unless I missed something lol, the backpack doesn't fit unless your remove the cape. all in all nice figures but odd choices.
Stop selling yourself short on your pictures! I’d like to see cobra troops /officers/valkyries with that black outfit. I was hoping the Steel Brigade weapons were blue bc I wanted to give the to the Marauders. I don’t hate the Gung Ho reuse bc he looks like a guy that would use high tech/sci-fi weapons. My set should be here tomorrow.
@@beesbattlegrounds Just opened it up. I think the big misses are no including the Jump pack and the extra pistol for the commander. Or they should’ve swapped it with another ammo pouch or something. If I’m being really picky, maybe he only needs one shoulder piece. I don’t think he needs the one under the cape. But give me more of him - basic troops, Valkyries, CGs, maybe even Vipers with a purple facemask. Love the color scheme. I have no doubt IG Destro is definitely coming. And about the classic laser blasters, I think every retro carded figure should come with them, the main line should stay kind of modern and the retros can be more like the cartoon. Or sell me a weapons pack like the old days.
I’m really only interested in the Twilight Guard. That’s a cool looking fig. But I’ll be passing on this solely because I’m only interested in characters and figures that scratch the nostalgic itch from when I was a kid
I can’t place the arms at all for Twilight Guard. The belt on Commander is from Grunt. I gave the Commander a backpack from Grunt too for weapon storage.

Change the arms not the torso so you got different patterns lol... Sometimes the Joe team can be so lazy and pick the wrong parts.

I vote Cobra Civil War. The Dark Energon storyline sort of fissled out for me.

Why can they never get the Cobra logo paint app on point? It's always jacked up in some fashion... my opinion.
I really dont get the blue on the weapons, especially the m60.Leave it black or use a flat earth .Overall, the figures look pretty tight.

Oh boy this is bad ! So much re use and bad re use as well those gung ho guns ick! The steel corp male is average at best but the female is terrible.
I would love like dedicated night force/ tiger force steel corps in male and female as well as a female steel corps commander
The new night force two pack does have steel corp heads, think Hasbro doubled that pack as a troop builder pack

Digging out the goofy old Gung Ho weapons from 4 years ago was certainly...a choice by Hasbro lol.
