Most people in this region follow Islam. Like in my country (Senegal), neighbouring Mali, Niger, Mauritania, Algeria, Northern Nigeria, Northern west africa in general, most people are Muslim. About 99% of the population are muslim.
@@MalamIbnMalam tamasheq has many different dialects so you can call it tamasheq but everyone has their own accents such as tadaksahak, tudalt, timbuktu koroboro, these various dialects in the north of mali in tammanrasset and this band in specifcally from timbuktu actually adopting words from neighboring languages such as the songhai of timbuktu not all tamasheq is the same and not everyone understand each other its really an umbrella term
This is "Takamba" music of the Songhai people. this is not tuareg/tamashek or amazigh. Tuaregs are not the only ppl who wear veils! most tribes in the Sahel do. ppl seem to confuse, Tuaregs, fFulanis, Tebous, Songhais, Hausas, Moors etc. and cant tell them apart, everything in a veil ISN'T Tuareg. This IS SONGHAI!
wyldfiyah, actually the dance is called Takamba and the guitar is called Tehardent in Tamasheq and Ngoni in Hausa. Takamba is the dance and the music style known as Azawan and it’s played in Mali, Morocco, Mauritania and all over the Sahel and Sahara. The dance is originally Hausa and we Kel Tamasheq and Maurs soon adopt it. Peace and love ❤️
It's not tigrinya, I believe its tamashek/tamazig or surakha kan (language of the tuaregs) like we say in the south of the country :), anyway I am not surprised that my friends from the Horn find similarities with this culture. Myself, I call Abyssinians (eritrea, ethiopia, somalia) Surakhas of the east lol
u think the singer just spken a tigrinia language while the dancer were dancing she said like (intai min tifalis) in the minute 3:36 i am just curious?!!
no its not tigrinya its neither tamashek but is in between the songhai and tamsheq family as many people who live past essakane dont actually speak tamasheq properly

this isn't Tamashek this is a different dialect someone who speaks the standard Tamashek might not catch every single word
@@khalenmoore6354 what are you saying? The song is indeed in tamasheq, the artist is Tartit.

You have it all backwards. Don't confuse language and pre-existing culture.
