I've been trying to see the other side, but I really can't help but think Soe is clingy. Yoongjae avoided picking her twice even though he could've gone to Paradise both times, so how much clearer of a rejection than that does Soe need? She even acknowledges that she was "abandoned, even after I talked to him," which means she KNEW it was a clear rejection, yet she still sits Yoongjae down several times just to tell him how heartbroken she is, that "it would've been nice" if he gave her a chance to know her better too. If that's not asking him to reconsider her, I don't know what is. Also, Soe is the girl who said in her opening that she's the type to knock on the door until the guy gives in ("I believe my sincerity will get through to him if I persist.") She also cried about Yoongjae not picking her 48 hours after meeting him. I don't know about ya'll, but that is the sign of a girl who can't take rejection. It also shows that she's too sensitive or overemotional when it comes to relationships, which again supports the theory that she might have a clingy personality. Lastly for those of ya'll claiming that Soe was only pressuring Yoongjae because she needed "clarification" from him - umm, wrong. Dude rejected her in his own way by not picking her for Paradise twice, he never took initiative to spend time with her, never gave her hints, he clearly only had eyes for Soeun, and the only reason why he said he might be interested was because she kept asking him, "Are you interested in getting to know me?" What's the guy supposed to say, "no"? Yoongjae clearly think Soe is an okay option, someone he'd like to know as a friend, but his heart is also pulled by Soeun, so what's wrong with him leaving his options open for a short while? Do ya'll villify Jia from Season 1 in this way too for stringing along 3 guys she was interested in? Yoongjae only wanted to confirm his feelings with Soeun first, and once he did, he gave Soe a clear rejection within 24 hours of her asking him - so what more do ya'll want from the guy? Bottom line, it is not "problematic" that Yoongjae doesn't communicate in the way that Soe does, because he was pretty dang clear in his own way that he was never interested in her romantically. And considering that he flirted with Sejeong way more yet Sejeong took his style of rejection calmly without offense or need for clarification, I think Soe is the one refusing to take a hint here. She's insisting that Yoongjae communicate in HER style whilst constantly asking for "clarification" under the pretense of not understanding his feelings - she KNOWS his feelings, yet she's only asking for clarification b/c she just wants him to reconsider her, which she literally admits when she says "it would've been nice if you'd given me a chance too." Seriously, if this was a guy doing this to a girl (cough, low-key Dongwoo), it'd be problematic, but because it's a girl with a baby voice doing this to a nice guy who communicates more subtly, the guy's now "trash" for needing time to affirm his feelings. Hahhh, the double standards.

@@SirenMeow Honestly, I'd have fallen for Soe's cute voice and nice words 5 years ago, but I'm older and wiser now to look at things from a more gender-neutral view. I get Soe is the type to need outright rejection, and it's not a bad thing to want a clear answer, but most people who respect others' boundaries would understand Yoongjae's subtle style of communication well enough too. Hence why I get iffy vibes from Soe who pretends to not understand Yoongjae's hints when she clearly does, and also insists on making her heartbreak his business no matter how uncomfortable it makes him. She strikes me as the type who thinks she's the innocent MC of a K-drama by saying sweet things, but then is oblivious to how people feel around her. Like, she doesn't strike me as a good listener - she has a tendency to monologue when I hear her conversations with Yoongjae lol.

I agree, double standards. It's weird how people take the side of the girl the moment that she cries, even though she might be the one not respecting the guy's boundaries. Soe herself said with her own mouth that she was "abandoned" by Yoongaje, so why is she following him around pretending she doesn't understand that he's not interested in her? I agree with most of your take. The only thing that bothers me is the huge difference in Yoongjae's demeanor when he's with Seoeun vs Soe. Initially, I thought he was just supremely conflict-averse, like someone who's nice but finds it so painfully uncomfortable having more straightforward difficult talks that they end up stringing people along and inevitably hurting them by not being honest. But rewatching the last episode made me see him in a different light and I'm not so sure about his character anymore. He was so assertive and determined when he jumped up and made a beeline to talk with Seoeun. He very clearly has the ability to verbally express his feelings and be direct when the situation calls for it. At best he comes across as inconsiderate, at worst he seems disingenuous. I think it would've been fine had he not left their first talk open ended, but he told her I'll let you know before it's too late. He could've let her down then or easily had his talk with Seoeun, realized his feelings are still just as strong, and pulled So-e aside to tell her so. I think that would've been fair and no one could really criticize him, but he avoids her and when she follows up, he gives her the same vague run around of wanting to talk to everyone when that's not true. He doesn't owe her anything, but he's creating a weird narrative around himself that he could've avoided had he told her no that first time she pulled him aside. So-e should 100% move on, but to me, the discrepancy in his actions and what he says vs what he does is giving me pause. Idk this is just my take on things after rewatching the latest episodes. Honestly though most people that hate Seulki is Nadine international fans and the reason they hate her is because Nadine get rejected by Dongwoo because he like Seulki. As a girl, if you have to keep being the one to seek a guy out and talk to him first and he shows you no interest himself... he's not into you. Soe really needed to take a hint. I've been in Youngjae's position with guys and it's so uncomfortable when someone basically forces you to reject them bluntly because they won't take a hint. You don't want to be rude or hurt their feelings, so you try and indicate more subtly that you're not interested so you can spare their feelings and pride... but some people just can't understand anything other than a straight up NO. Even then, there are some who still think that they can win you over if they keep persisting and it's so awkward and uncomfortable for the person being pursued... so please everyone, don't act like Soe in this situation, boy or girl... just learn to take a hint. When someone likes you back, they show interest in you, and you don't have to always be the one to initiate conversation.

So-e is probably the only one this season I am not the least curious about. Like her clingy behavior is literally so repelling. It's like Yoong Jae needs to spell it out for her. Is she really that bad at taking hints? If he didn't choose her twice for paradise even when she had a conversation with him, isn't it pretty clear that he isn't really interested in her? Also, So-e keeps drilling him to know who he's interested in, the same way that Dong woo does with Seulki. I don't think Yoong Jae owes her any explanation. I also hate how everyone paints her as this victim who could do no wrong just because shes a girl. I noticed that Yoong Jae started feeling very uncomfortable around her. I completely agree. She is trying to emotionally trap him. She is quite cunning in the sense that she makes sure everyone sides with her and be the victim - she even tries to team up with the chief. Yoong Jae gives up the ticket to paradise after her confession before the selection round, which to me is a clear indication that he is not interested in her. There are too many occasions where So-e just emotionally blackmails him. I cannot understand how could some audience take side with So-e.
i feel like yoongjae kept telling soee the same thing because he doesn't want their earlier conversations to appear dishonest. in the beginning he told her he wanted to get to know the other people and at that time ofc it was true even though by now he's realized he wants to only focus on seoeun. he's also said that he usually drags things along because he doesn't want to unnecessarily hurt people. that's why he's still holding on to the "excuse" he told her in the beginning because that reason hurt her enough already and he doesn't want an additional new reason to hurt her more ofc the problem here is just that their personalities and their "problem solving methods" don't really mesh because for most people yoongjaes words and actions would have been clear enough of an answer already but not for soee

Honestly I couldn't even tell how Seul Ki felt the first time with Dong Woo in paradise because the English translation don't convey the tones and words accurately. Like the did "my Seul Ki sleep well" part would honestly make me uncomfortable too but it was translated to did you sleep well so I was confused and didn't understand why she was uncomfortable the first time around.
Im not gonna lie I was really pissed with the producers for how they edited the entire portion of the whole love square mess at the beginning. I of course feel bad for So-e and Hanbin, and especially So-e really shined in her night conversation with Youngjae, but putting a depressive mood over the ENTIRE conversation with Seo-eun and Yoongjae was really dirty. They're not villains for choosing to like each other, and i will be HELLA pissed if i come across ppl who hate on them just because they empathize with Hanbin and So-e because that isn't fair. It's hard to see Hanbin and So-e go through all that and I really like both of them, but forcing people to like someone they don't like won't make anyone happy in the end and i think a lot of that came through in this episode.

For me I think their was definitely something but jiyoung is the type of person who intimidates other people but I case of Nadine I think he was the one who was a little bit intimidated by Nadine. I thought it was really cute, but friendship cute? Nadine's broken Korean and JY's broken English. I think Nadine could be interested in JY but JY looks way too comfortable around Nadine. I don't really see a love line happening. Also I see JY as a very Korean Korean guy and Nadine is bit too American for him? Same goes Nadine, JY is too Korean for her in the sense they may not click that well.

I don't think Jinyoung is intimidated with anyone to be honest. I think he is friendly and joke with everyone not just to Nadine but he obviously is only interested with Seulki. The only girl he ever puts effort with. It was the girls always asking him for talk but w/ Seulki it was Jinyoung making effort. But with the editing and storyline from the start... I got a feeling it will be Seulki that will change her mind in the end and not Jinyoung. I think she will go for Jongwoo in the end. The editing seem to point that way. The parallel with SooE giving up contrary to Jongwoo basically taking on the entire guys in Ep. 8 just for 1 girl and the hero edit the director give him... I think they'll have different ending. SooE gave up so he didn't get the guy but Jongwoo works hard from start to end so he got his happy ending is basically what I expect.

He stay out of the way the entire time and only came out to double team Jongwoo (w/ Jinyoung) during Top 3 & Jongwoo still manage to hold out despite 2 guys coming at him. You gotta respect his dedication! Seulki will go with him since he is 2nd to choose. Jinyoung is 3rd. But yeah I got this feeling their endgame. It’s because they are the pair that constantly have storyline from Ep 1 to the end. They are the first guy & girl to enter. Jongwoo getting love at first sight & choosing Seulki from the moment he entered Inferno. The way the show was edited seem to point at them as endgame. Similar edit to Sehoon-Jiyeon last season.
The new guy gives me plastic-y vibes… Like I don’t think he is half or natural. I honestly don’t really like nor sympathize with So-E because that girl is being a burden and inconsiderate at this point. Like she is basically pressuring him to reject her verbally before she stops pursuing him. No one needs a verbal confirmation when their actions have been AS CLEAR AS DAY. Like she is making him so uncomfortable. Yeah Yoong Jae shouldn’t have waited that long to reject her and that is his fault too, but girl. Get the clue. He doesn’t like you. From day 1, he doesn’t like you and it shows. You can’t love someone to love you nor get them to love you out of pity man. It’s kinda sad. The difference in maturity is too great. She still behaves in this naive-like k-drama fantasy whereas Yoong Jae likes someone that has the same mature vibe as him, hence Seo-Eun. Anyways, those are my 2 cents on this ep.

I think in So-e's defense the fact that they are all stuck with each other in a deserted island for a week isn't going to give you a lot of space to simply move on. It's not like the real world where you can just avoid that person. So thats why So-e in ep 6 told Yong Jae it's alright and lets just see other as friends. Cuz honestly Yong Jae been acting awkward as hell around So-e such as at the bonfire. I partially think shes cool with just being friends at this pt but Yong Jae keep thinking every tiny thing So-e does is an attempt to get with him which isn't the case imo.
Yeah, tbh I feel like the night in inferno when she first asked to talk, she was looking for closure and wanted to say her peace. I don't really think she was asking him to give her a chance, but he felt like that's what she was asking. I think their incompatible communication styles created this whole mess. I totally agree (or hope) that she's okay moving on, but Yoongjae is really avoidant, so any proximity to her now causes him to stress. Hopefully next episode So-e moves on because it seems like there's drama coming up with YJ/Seoeun/new girl lol

The offer to cook was definitely a failed olive branch and very much a Korean eating culture thing. Young jae should have been straightforward to So-e instead of saying passive things like he wants to get to know other girls when clearly he doesn't. I honestly was shocked at this comment section. I have to defend So-E at this point. I watched the series too and I saw something totally different. She was NEVER clingy. She even asked him at a point for his DEFINITE answer and he told her to give him some time. She liked him and tried her best till the end. Yoong Jae is definitely a coward for not being honest and upfront about his feelings, but I don’t think that So-E is the victim that everyone makes her out to be. Home girl knows what she’s doing. She’s intentionally pressuring him and being clingy. his actions show that he does not like her. He never chose her even once. Seems clear to me that he’s not very interested. He’s visibly uncomfortable when they’re together. She needs to have some self respect and find someone else. Her crying scenes are also very cringe to me. I get that it sucks to like someone who does not like you back, but she’s also known him for like three days…

3:00 I was screaming my lungs out, praising Han-bin for being upfront to So-e about Yoong-jae's true intentions! Like someone needed to tell her! We all know that actions speak louder than words that's why (for me at least) it was SO frustrating to see So-e depend only on words. I don't know who said it but, I agree 100%. This season has too many people with an "I'll keep trying" mentality. So far season 2 has been emotionally chaotic imo.

I’m here for Hanbin and Soeun. They seemed so chill and fun. Part of me doesn’t want Soeun with Youngjae just because he’s been leading on Soe. Ofc he’s proven exactly he’s not interested in her by actions alone, but it rubs me the wrong way he’s giving her hope verbally. Obviously she’d be confused if a guy says one thing but acts completely different. But I also understand he’s not trying to play her and doesn’t want to hurt her feelings so I guess it’s not that bad. Just want Soe to find a better guy fr. 🥺
I’ve been dying to talk about this show for so long. I have never been so invested in a dating show. I think this episode irked me the most. It’s halfway through and the tunnel vision of these people is driving me nuts. Even though they all got friend-zoned very quickly, they won’t take the hint and became stalkers. I don’t know why but Seul-Ki really turns me off. She gets the most camera time and I’m so bored of her. I get this vibe of fake manipulation with the innocent shy girl who always knows what to say to get a man’s attention. * What I know will happen: Seo-Eun with Yoong-Jae; Seul-Ki with Jin-Young; and everyone else goes home alone. * What I want to happen: Nadine with Jin-Young (They always are laughing whenever they talk and the language barrier is so cute...let me have my fantasy); My forever alone couple: Se-Jeong with Jong Woo; Seo-Eun with Yoong Jae; So-e with Han-Bin (They are always there to comfort each other); Leaves solo: Seul-Ki (Petty me wants her to be rejected for once), Dong Woo (Too controlling in my opinion); and New Girl (Didn’t seem to interact with anyone)

She clearly knew that Yoongjae wasn't interested in her, but she kept asking him over and over again what his feelings were, asking him to give her a chance too, that she feels heartbroken, etc. Girl's making her feelings his business without noticing just how uncomfortable he is about rejecting her, and he never even took initiative to give her romantic hints. She also knows she's been rejected indirectly ("I've been abandoned, even after the talk I had with him!") yet she's still asking him to reject her in HER style even if that's not HIS communication style. Girl doesn't seem to respect boundaries imo. She says nice things, but disregarding all the hints.
@@underthegardenwall I think you have to keep in mind that we have the whole picture, and Soe only has her perspective, which is obviously influenced by her feelings. It's a program to look for love, she is clear that she likes Yoongjae, and he tells her that he wants to meet all the girls, remember there were 5 girls, and they have had 2 chances to choose who to go to paradise, and we all know that Soe is not Yoongjae's first or second choice, even Soe realized that hahaha but what if Soe was his third choice? there would still be a possibility if those encounters with the previous girls didn't turn out well, like in Seulki's case, she was curious about that guy (I don't remember his name) and then she met him and lost interest in him. So the order of the people he is curious about in that context doesn't matter much, because there in paradise they know each other better and can see if there is an attraction beyond the physical. With that in mind, and Yoongje not being direct with Soe, about how he changed his mind about meeting all the girls, maybe that was Soe's hope, that he would give her a chance to get to know him and who knows, maybe they would have gotten along, but we'll never know.
Bro either way I still think it’s best to verbally communicate your stance clearly. Youngjae should have verbally turned so-e down earlier and so should have seulki. They both weren’t interested but just dragged it on whilst putting the other person through shit. This is a only a couple of days or even hours, a single interaction can keep someone hopeful for least a day or 2 so you can’t really expect them to “take a hint” when the “spark” they felt happened so recently.

People think So-e need to guess what Yoong-jae thinks... we only see a fraction of what happens on the island and in the first few days he told her he was interested in meeting her, so it's obvious that she thought she had a chance. She was always honest about saying what she wanted and he kept giving vague answers which seems like a hopeful sign. There are a lot of people like that, who confuse several people at the same time. I've always seen it that way and I think So-e has a very strong personality for speaking her feelings.
Soe more so asked him, "Are you interested in getting to know me?" and Yoongjae said, "Sure..........I guess I am." But that comes off more as him wanting to know her as friends, and to be fair, he WAS willing to give her a chance romantically at the end of episode 4 by saying, "I'll have an answer for you soon," which means he wanted to talk with Seoeun first. Then once he and Seoeun confirmed their feelings for one another the next day, he rejected Soe right afterwards. I'd say that a clear rejection within 24 hours is fair.
FYI - Lee So E is an actress, she has support roles in the dramas: Snowdrop (2021), The First Responders (2022), The Glory (2022). I recognised her immediatly 😅, makes me wonder why she joined 🤔 maybe to get more famous for her career?
It’s very easy to hate on a guy saying he misleaded! If everyone on that island knew yiungjae’s feeling like hanbin mentioned, how come soe does not. It’s really wrong to hate on the guy just because you want to sympathize with the girl! How sad people don’t understand that and make such comments in vedio! Really really sad!
I feel like all the comments defending Yoongjae are kinda of missing Soe’s POV. To her, he’s this amazing guy she’s like all along and someone she’s genuinely hoping to be in a relationship with. He said he’s going to talk to everyone and she’s part of everyone right? Even if she knows that it’s very unlikely and he obviously already has a favorite, as long as she gets even the tiniest bit of hope, she’s going to hold onto it. It’s something that happen really often to women in love, usually in a bad relationship. Rachel Bloom even has a song about it called “Love Kernels”. Yoongjae obviously isn’t into her and as observers we can see it but to her, him talking to someone else is just him talking to other girls and it’ll eventually come around to her. Him picking someone else to go to Paradise with is just their turn to hang out and her turn will eventually come too. She’s going to be making excuses for him until he properly express his feelings to her. If he had done what Suel-ki did and she continued? Yeah, that would be over the line. She’s crossing the line right now but the thing is she doesn’t know where the line is because Yoongjae can’t set boundaries with her. This was going to continue until someone slaps Soe’s head awake like Hanbin did (everyone say thank you Hanbin) or Yoongjae finally muster up the courage to go against his people pleaser tendencies
I understand Soe is the type who needs an outright rejection, but most people who respect others' boundaries understand indirect rejection. That's why I say Soe has a clingy personality and is pressuring Yoongjae - she's insisting that he communicate in her style and reject her in the way she wants, which I don't love. Dude has a more subtle communication style that people like Sejeong understands clearly enough, so why doesn't Soe? I'm not saying Soe's a bad person (I get her POV), but it also makes me think that she's a bit clueless and unable to see the other person's POV. I get very faint stalkerish vibes from her, especially considering she said in her opening introduction that she's the type to persist even if the guy doesn't like her back.

I understand that it’s a show so he can’t out right say no but he needs to set boundaries with her. “I’m curious about you” and “I want to talk to other people, you included” is really vague. Hanbin is my favorite and underrated; Very disappointed with Yoongjae betrayal of JongWoo and his shallowness …Ms Korea will likely dump him quickly since he is not wealthy; Seulke has been favorite from 1rst episode because of her manners and easy, soft gracefullness…Strong and evident chemistry with Jingong BUT her wealthy family may not accept him; JongWoo deserves a kind woman who reciprocates his love.

He seems like he has a really open personality, the way he laughs and jokes without being self-conscious. And I think one of the hosts said it best, that Yoongjae does considerate things for people without trying to look cool or wondering how he's coming across to the girls - he just keeps his eye on his work. Most of the other guys put on a cool or gentlemanly front, whereas Yoongjae just acts like himself, hence why I can see why so many of the girls fell for him.
he's well mannered and helpful to everyone..he doesn't expect recognition for it..its just his nature...some people can mistake it as interest but he's just genuinely nice...that's what draws people to him...his understated kindness

I dont understand why not even one give a glance to Hanbin and Jong woo.. why is it always Youngjae... he is so passive other than to Seoeun. He is what he said he is, he said he cant push away people even if they have crush on her.
I honestly believe that Hanbin could've been a popular choice (Seoeun and Sejeong were interested), but he didn't take the effort at all to connect with anyone on the first day. He only facilitated the atmosphere as if he was the host, hence why none of the girls felt particularly connected to him. It's Hanbin's fault that he missed that window of opportunity. As for Seoeun, I think she was turned off once she found out that Hanbin was younger than her. It's attractive if an older man has the youthful personality that Hanbin has, but it's less attractive when a younger guy acts young lol. In Hanbin's case, he should've acted more calm and mature around Seoeun if he was to have any chance with her, but he kinda acted like a mischievous younger brother to her, which killed his chances imo.

I've been trying to see the other side, but I really can't help but think Soe is clingy. Yoongjae avoided picking her twice even though he could've gone to Paradise both times, so how much clearer of a rejection than that does Soe need? She even acknowledges that she was "abandoned, even after I talked to him," which means she KNEW it was a clear rejection, yet she still sits Yoongjae down several times just to tell him how heartbroken she is, that "it would've been nice" if he gave her a chance to know her better too. If that's not asking him to reconsider her, I don't know what is.
Also, Soe is the girl who said in her opening that she's the type to knock on the door until the guy gives in ("I believe my sincerity will get through to him if I persist.") She also cried about Yoongjae not picking her 48 hours after meeting him. I don't know about ya'll, but that is the sign of a girl who can't take rejection. It also shows that she's too sensitive or overemotional when it comes to relationships, which again supports the theory that she might have a clingy personality.
Lastly for those of ya'll claiming that Soe was only pressuring Yoongjae because she needed "clarification" from him - umm, wrong. Dude rejected her in his own way by not picking her for Paradise twice, he never took initiative to spend time with her, never gave her hints, he clearly only had eyes for Soeun, and the only reason why he said he might be interested was because she kept asking him, "Are you interested in getting to know me?" What's the guy supposed to say, "no"? Yoongjae clearly think Soe is an okay option, someone he'd like to know as a friend, but his heart is also pulled by Soeun, so what's wrong with him leaving his options open for a short while? Do ya'll villify Jia from Season 1 in this way too for stringing along 3 guys she was interested in? Yoongjae only wanted to confirm his feelings with Soeun first, and once he did, he gave Soe a clear rejection within 24 hours of her asking him - so what more do ya'll want from the guy?
Bottom line, it is not "problematic" that Yoongjae doesn't communicate in the way that Soe does, because he was pretty dang clear in his own way that he was never interested in her romantically. And considering that he flirted with Sejeong way more yet Sejeong took his style of rejection calmly without offense or need for clarification, I think Soe is the one refusing to take a hint here. She's insisting that Yoongjae communicate in HER style whilst constantly asking for "clarification" under the pretense of not understanding his feelings - she KNOWS his feelings, yet she's only asking for clarification b/c she just wants him to reconsider her, which she literally admits when she says "it would've been nice if you'd given me a chance too."

I agree with most of your take. The only thing that bothers me is the huge difference in Yoongjae's demeanor when he's with Seoeun vs Soe. Initially, I thought he was just supremely conflict-averse, like someone who's nice but finds it so painfully uncomfortable having more straightforward difficult talks that they end up stringing people along and inevitably hurting them by not being honest. But rewatching the last episode made me see him in a different light and I'm not so sure about his character anymore. He was so assertive and determined when he jumped up and made a beeline to talk with Seoeun. He very clearly has the ability to verbally express his feelings and be direct when the situation calls for it. At best he comes across as inconsiderate, at worst he seems disingenuous. I think it would've been fine had he not left their first talk open ended, but he told her I'll let you know before it's too late. He could've let her down then or easily had his talk with Seoeun, realized his feelings are still just as strong, and pulled So-e aside to tell her so. I think that would've been fair and no one could really criticize him, but he avoids her and when she follows up, he gives her the same vague run around of wanting to talk to everyone when that's not true. He doesn't owe her anything, but he's creating a weird narrative around himself that he could've avoided had he told her no that first time she pulled him aside. So-e should 100% move on, but to me, the discrepancy in his actions and what he says vs what he does is giving me pause. Idk this is just my take on things after rewatching the latest episodes. I guess we'll just have to wait for next week to see.

As a girl, if you have to keep being the one to seek a guy out and talk to him first and he shows you no interest himself... he's not into you. Soe really needed to take a hint. I've been in Youngjae's position with guys and it's so uncomfortable when someone basically forces you to reject them bluntly because they won't take a hint. You don't want to be rude or hurt their feelings, so you try and indicate more subtly that you're not interested so you can spare their feelings and pride... but some people just can't understand anything other than a straight up NO. Even then, there are some who still think that they can win you over if they keep persisting and it's so awkward and uncomfortable for the person being pursued... so please everyone, don't act like Soe in this situation, boy or girl... just learn to take a hint. When someone likes you back, they show interest in you, and you don't have to always be the one to initiate conversation.

So-e is probably the only one this season I am not the least curious about. Like her clingy behavior is literally so repelling. It's like Yoong Jae needs to spell it out for her. I completely agree. She is trying to emotionally trap him. She is quite cunning in the sense that she makes sure everyone sides with her and be the victim - she even tries to team up with the chief. Yoong Jae gives up the ticket to paradise after her confession before the selection round, which to me is a clear indication that he is not interested in her. There are too many occasions where So-e just emotionally blackmails him. I cannot understand how could some audience take side with So-e.
i feel like yoongjae kept telling soee the same thing because he doesn't want their earlier conversations to appear dishonest. in the beginning he told her he wanted to get to know the other people and at that time ofc it was true even though by now he's realized he wants to only focus on seoeun. he's also said that he usually drags things along because he doesn't want to unnecessarily hurt people. that's why he's still holding on to the "excuse" he told her in the beginning because that reason hurt her enough already and he doesn't want an additional new reason to hurt her more
ofc the problem here is just that their personalities and their "problem solving methods" don't really mesh because for most people yoongjaes words and actions would have been clear enough of an answer already but not for soee

Honestly I couldn't even tell how Seul Ki felt the first time with Dong Woo in paradise because the English translation don't convey the tones and words accurately. Like the did "my Seul Ki sleep well" part would honestly make me uncomfortable too but it was translated to did you sleep well so I was confused and didn't understand why she was uncomfortable the first time around.
Im not gonna lie I was really pissed with the producers for how they edited the entire portion of the whole love square mess at the beginning. I of course feel bad for So-e and Hanbin, and especially So-e really shined in her night conversation with Youngjae, but putting a depressive mood over the ENTIRE conversation with Seo-eun and Yoongjae was really dirty. They're not villains for choosing to like each other, and i will be HELLA pissed if i come across ppl who hate on them just because they empathize with Hanbin and So-e because that isn't fair. It's hard to see Hanbin and So-e go through all that and I really like both of them, but forcing people to like someone they don't like won't make anyone happy in the end and i think a lot of that came through in this episode.

I don't think Jinyoung is intimidated with anyone to be honest. I think he is friendly and joke with everyone not just to Nadine but he obviously is only interested with Seulki. The only girl he ever puts effort with. It was the girls always asking him for talk but w/ Seulki it was Jinyoung making effort. But with the editing and storyline from the start... I got a feeling it will be Seulki that will change her mind in the end and not Jinyoung. I think she will go for Jongwoo in the end. The editing seem to point that way.
The parallel with SooE giving up contrary to Jongwoo basically taking on the entire guys in Ep. 8 just for 1 girl and the hero edit the director give him... I think they'll have different ending. SooE gave up so he didn't get the guy but Jongwoo works hard from start to end so he got his happy ending is basically what I expect.

Seulki will go with him since he is 2nd to choose. Jinyoung is 3rd. But yeah I got this feeling their endgame. It’s because they are the pair that constantly have storyline from Ep 1 to the end. They are the first guy & girl to enter. Jongwoo getting love at first sight & choosing Seulki from the moment he entered Inferno. The way the show was edited seem to point at them as endgame. Similar edit to Sehoon-Jiyeon last season.

I think in So-e's defense the fact that they are all stuck with each other in a deserted island for a week isn't going to give you a lot of space to simply move on. It's not like the real world where you can just avoid that person. So thats why So-e in ep 6 told Yong Jae it's alright and lets just see other as friends. Yoong Jae is definitely a coward for not being honest and upfront about his feelings, but I don’t think that So-E is the victim that everyone makes her out to be. Home girl knows what she’s doing. She’s intentionally pressuring him and being clingy. his actions show that he does not like her. He never chose her even once. Seems clear to me that he’s not very interested. He’s visibly uncomfortable when they’re together. She needs to have some self respect and find someone else. Her crying scenes are also very cringe to me. I’m here for Hanbin and Soeun. They seemed so chill and fun. Part of me doesn’t want Soeun with Youngjae just because he’s been leading on Soe. I’ve been dying to talk about this show for so long. I have never been so invested in a dating show. I think this episode irked me the most. It’s halfway through and the tunnel vision of these people is driving me nuts. Even though they all got friend-zoned very quickly, they won’t take the hint and became stalkers. I don’t know why but Seul-Ki really turns me off. She gets the most camera time and I’m so bored of her. I get this vibe of fake manipulation with the innocent shy girl who always knows what to say to get a man’s attention.

She clearly knew that Yoongjae wasn't interested in her, but she kept asking him over and over again what his feelings were, asking him to give her a chance too, that she feels heartbroken, etc. Girl's making her feelings his business without noticing just how uncomfortable he is about rejecting her, and he never even took initiative to give her romantic hints. She also knows she's been rejected indirectly ("I've been abandoned, even after the talk I had with him!") yet she's still asking him to reject her in HER style even if that's not HIS communication style.

It's a program to look for love, she is clear that she likes Yoongjae, and he tells her that he wants to meet all the girls, remember there were 5 girls, and they have had 2 chances to choose who to go to paradise, and we all know that Soe is not Yoongjae's first or second choice, even Soe realized that hahaha but what if Soe was his third choice? there would still be a possibility if those encounters with the previous girls didn't turn out well, like in Seulki's case, she was curious about that guy (I don't remember his name) and then she met him and lost interest in him. So the order of the people he is curious about in that context doesn't matter much, because there in paradise they know each other better and can see if there is an attraction beyond the physical. With that in mind, and Yoongje not being direct with Soe, about how he changed his mind about meeting all the girls, maybe that was Soe's hope, that he would give her a chance to get to know him and who knows, maybe they would have gotten along, but we'll never know.

Bro either way I still think it’s best to verbally communicate your stance clearly. Youngjae should have verbally turned so-e down earlier and so should have seulki. They both weren’t interested but just dragged it on whilst putting the other person through shit. This is a only a couple of days or even hours, a single interaction can keep someone hopeful for least a day or 2 so you can’t really expect them to “take a hint” when the “spark” they felt happened so recently.

She was always honest about saying what she wanted and he kept giving vague answers which seems like a hopeful sign. There are a lot of people like that, who confuse several people at the same time. I've always seen it that way and I think So-e has a very strong personality for speaking her feelings.
Soe more so asked him, "Are you interested in getting to know me?" and Yoongjae said, "Sure..........I guess I am." But that comes off more as him wanting to know her as friends, and to be fair, he WAS willing to give her a chance romantically at the end of episode 4 by saying, "I'll have an answer for you soon," which means he wanted to talk with Seoeun first. Then once he and Seoeun confirmed their feelings for one another the next day, he rejected Soe right afterwards. I'd say that a clear rejection within 24 hours is fair.

I feel like all the comments defending Yoongjae are kinda of missing Soe’s POV. To her, he’s this amazing guy she’s like all along and someone she’s genuinely hoping to be in a relationship with. He said he’s going to talk to everyone and she’s part of everyone right? Even if she knows that it’s very unlikely and he obviously already has a favorite, as long as she gets even the tiniest bit of hope, she’s going to hold onto it. It’s something that happen really often to women in love, usually in a bad relationship. Rachel Bloom even has a song about it called “Love Kernels”. Yoongjae obviously isn’t into her and as observers we can see it but to her, him talking to someone else is just him talking to other girls and it’ll eventually come around to her. Him picking someone else to go to Paradise with is just their turn to hang out and her turn will eventually come too. She’s going to be making excuses for him until he properly express his feelings to her. If he had done what Suel-ki did and she continued? Yeah, that would be over the line. She’s crossing the line right now but the thing is she doesn’t know where the line is because Yoongjae can’t set boundaries with her. This was going to continue until someone slaps Soe’s head awake like Hanbin did (everyone say thank you Hanbin) or Yoongjae finally muster up the courage to go against his people pleaser tendencies
I understand Soe is the type who needs an outright rejection, but most people who respect others' boundaries understand indirect rejection. That's why I say Soe has a clingy personality and is pressuring Yoongjae - she's insisting that he communicate in her style and reject her in the way she wants, which I don't love. Dude has a more subtle communication style that people like Sejeong understands clearly enough, so why doesn't Soe?
I'm not saying Soe's a bad person (I get her POV), but it also makes me think that she's a bit clueless and unable to see the other person's POV. I get very faint stalkerish vibes from her, especially considering she said in her opening introduction that she's the type to persist even if the guy doesn't like her back.

I understand that it’s a show so he can’t out right say no but he needs to set boundaries with her. “I’m curious about you” and “I want to talk to other people, you included” is really vague. I feel like this is the part where you realize they’re going to need a little more than subtle hints and give them a firmer rejection. Soe is obviously the type that needs people to say it out loud for her to understand. She immediately got it after Hanbin put it into words for her. That’s what Yoongjae should have done.

Like, seeing how she kept asking Yoongjae how he feels about her even though she can clearly see just how obsessed he is with Seoeun makes it look like she's intentionally playing dense. I get she needs an outright rejection, but the fact that she feels entitled to one even though Yoongjae never gave her romantic hints - that gives me vibes of someone who doesn't respect boundaries, someone who feels entitled to the other person's time and energy, which I don't love. It just feels like a Soe problem, not a Yoongjae problem, especially considering how Sejeong didn't have any problem respecting Yoongjae's decision even though in her case he actually flirted with her lol.

Seulke has been favorite from 1rst episode because of her manners and easy, soft gracefullness…Strong and evident chemistry with Jingong BUT her wealthy family may not accept him;
JongWoo deserves a kind woman who reciprocates his love.

He seems like he has a really open personality, the way he laughs and jokes without being self-conscious. And I think one of the hosts said it best, that Yoongjae does considerate things for people without trying to look cool or wondering how he's coming across to the girls - he just keeps his eye on his work. Most of the other guys put on a cool or gentlemanly front, whereas Yoongjae just acts like himself, hence why I can see why so many of the girls fell for him.
he's well mannered and helpful to everyone..he doesn't expect recognition for it..its just his nature...some people can mistake it as interest but he's just genuinely nice...that's what draws people to him...his understated kindness

I honestly believe that Hanbin could've been a popular choice (Seoeun and Sejeong were interested), but he didn't take the effort at all to connect with anyone on the first day. He only facilitated the atmosphere as if he was the host, hence why none of the girls felt particularly connected to him. It's Hanbin's fault that he missed that window of opportunity.
As for Seoeun, I think she was turned off once she found out that Hanbin was younger than her. It's attractive if an older man has the youthful personality that Hanbin has, but it's less attractive when a younger guy acts young lol. In Hanbin's case, he should've acted more calm and mature around Seoeun if he was to have any chance with her, but he kinda acted like a mischievous younger brother to her, which killed his chances imo.
