    Cool stuff! I'm a wedding photographer based out of Chicago. I picked up a Rolleiflex 3.5E recently and you might have inspired me to take a few shots with the Rolleiflex if I can work it in! Thanks

    Beautiful image of Jamie Lee Curtis. Did you provide her with a copy? And if so, what did she say?

      Yes but I don't recall. She used another film portrait I made of her in a press release though.

    It was nice of her posing for you, finally you have the portrait and an interesting story behind it :-)

      Thanks! It's been a good month for me. I've since added Representative Adam Schiff and Speaker Nancy Pelosi to the list of people I've been fortunate to photograph on film.

    Hehe, the part with Jamie patiently waiting for you to master the camera reminds me of my experiments with my old folding camera... not that I had any celebrity in front of me, but it was no less embarrassing. And in the end it was still worth it. With my other clunky vintage medium format I already reached the point where I'm too comfortable I think - not as comfortable as with my digital, but no surprises either. So I decided for the next months I'm gonna take off the prism and use only it's waist level finder again, simply to challenge me a little.

    Thanks for sharing! 7:20 The nightmare starts. I know how you must have felt ... One small thing: "Rolleiflex" is pronounced "Roll-eye-flex", not "Roll-y-flex". All you english speaking guys pronounce it wrong :-).

    I realize this is an older video, but I just watched it. Did you use a flash indoors? Outdoors, it looked like a cloudy day, so probably no need to add light, but indoors looked kind of dark. It looked like the ceilings were kind of low and white, at least the ones I saw so I imagine you could bounce your flash off of them. Anyway, I'm just curious to know if you used flash indoors or did you brighten the images in post?

    • @MikMilman
      @MikMilman  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe the only time I ever use flash at this location is in the foyer- it doesn't get much light. Otherwise there is plenty of light available. I have another video at this location with POV footage that should give you a clearer picture how I work:
