I’m not religious, but I’m very happy for you, Gerardo. I’m 54 and also pursued a music industry career as a singer in my teens, 20s, and 30s, but I think I was lucky in a way that I got out when I did, after a couple record label experiences. I saw and experienced enough to know that fame would’ve probably destroyed me. I’m proud of you that you found your way back to stability and peace. You have a beautiful family. 💕
It's not about living an religious life, it's about having an relationship with an personal GOD, living out the faith and living an holy life. Being set apart for GOD is being holy.

What an amazing testimony 🙌 it really touched my heart, I have been going tru some hard times as a Christian and hearing how God worked in your life has truly blessed me. I grew up in the Mission District in San Francisco CA and got caught up in the gang life that almost got me killed but the Lord rescued me 20 years ago. My parents never stopped praying for me. Growing up I IDOLIZED Gerardo…. I lost touch of him and his music for decades… I found God… I was digging thru old school music reminiscing and found this…I guess I did turn out like him. I’m by no means a pastor or a Christian, but I gave my life to God when I too had enough… 19 years l, in about 3 days, I’ll be sober… it’s all God at the wheel…. So many similarities…. This warmed my heart as it melted again. God bless you Gerardo. God bless you….

Increible historia. Thank you for sharing this Gerardo, my brother was such a big fan, he was always singing and rapping too, in spanish and english, let his hair grow, he'd always say he looked like Gerardo cuz he had his long curly hair, skinny fit guy, kind of looked a lot like you. He never let God into his life and unfortunately he never had a chance to find him, he died at 31 from a brain tumor, I always wonder if his outcome would have been different had he prayed and let God into his life. We were all born here in the states but raised in Ecuador, our parents are from Quito, so we always related to you a lot. We know what its like to live in both countries. I live in Texas now with my family, always wondered what happened to the "Ven michu michu" guy haha. Ojala algun dia tenga el gusto de conocerte y a tu hermosa familia. To be honest when I was a teenager I thought artists like you and anything "pop" was a joke, but today I watched a man humble himself before the world but most important you are humble to God the Creator , His Son the Lord Jesus Christ the Saviour and the sweet Holy Ghost. Wow, what a story and what a journey. I saw some of that journey fairly up close back in the day as a musician and I would watch his show every single night from the side of the stage. I even attended his wedding in Vegas. I am happy to see what looks to be a very happy ending with a beautiful family. We all thought it was a happy story the entire way, but you never really know do you? Now I know and I'm even more impressed. Congrats Bro.

Man I'm so happy I saw this video, Gerardo you are so right! I can relate in a way. When I'm struggling I give God thanks every morning for waking me up, now now that I have a good job and I'm just tired now, I feel like I don't have time for family, I forget to thank God every day! SMH but when I remember, it might be 4pm I thank god and humbly apologize for not "Thanking him as soon as he gave me another breathe of day"
Inspiring story!! Another example of how God can use anyone to expand his kingdom. I would love to see a video of you talking more about the growth within your family. How you all were able to overcome hard times throughout your process of growth and reconciliation with your wife. I know that it affects the kids as well. I feel like a lot of families have had to overcome challenges and they could use a video like that. Also, how you became a Pastor.
