Turns out you can slowly kill them with destined death or blackflame. They're immune to status ailments like poison until you parry them but the damage over time effects from DD and BF can whittle them down. It's only 2.5% of their hp per application so like 40 hits while running from them but if your really bad at parrying it is an option.
The Buckler helps with the parry. Killed every last one of them and they don't respawn either. Got more satisfaction killing them than any boss in the game.
of course I somehow missed the first untouchable and ended up killing all 6 of them before getting the talisman ... got pretty good at killing them, though :-). If you are stealthy (I regularly wear the black knife assassin cloak), you can run right up behind these guys which avoids the initial scream and knock-down then just wait for the wand to swing back. Once you get it, you wish every bad guy was that easy.
Not sure if it’s true but the reason might be is the game doesn’t have too many weapons that parry rather normal parry is just every smaller shield and two daggers that parry
@@mitchellmccarter parry used to be much more viable in the souls games. I think parrying is a lot more challenging to time properly in Elden Ring, and when it comes to pvp, so many weapons have crazy burst potential so missing a parry is a huge risk.
@@TarnishedHollow Yea I know they are harder in Elden ring. My sword and shield play through though I didn’t have too much trouble parrying and found mastering parrying chopped through enemies quicker than dodging parryable moves
These enemies werent hard at all to sneak past, but this area just basically being rat spam and basic stealth sequences was very tedious and annoying. Probably my least favorite area of not only the dlc, but the whole game. I was hoping for this crazed beast that would hunt you down in the woods, one that would do jump scares and be very hard to kill to where youd be better off hiding and running away from it. What we got as these recycled enemies with set patrolling routes was very lame.
