I remember having this song stuck in my head for literally two weeks. No exaggeration. I absolutely loved playing this song in high school. The bass line with the tuba just felt so nice to hear and it went together so nicely with the rest of the band
I just randomly remembered I played this song in band and had the urge to find it on TH-cam but I was just searching "Bach Fugue... no not that one... Bach Fugue.... no not that one.... Bach Fugue... YES THAT ONE"
our ex drum major who is going into music education is in control of this song and the smile on her face as she sees my band director playing tuba in the back is amazing
i got assigned this part in concert band on vibraphone. i can't play vibes nor can I read sheet music. (playing oboe 1 btw) were doing it at cmea in a few months. wish me luck.
@@kawingng1600 Yeah, I thought it was one of the keyboard one's because it was so slow and in a different key. Obviously it should be just way faster than this recording so it was a bit hard for me to figure it out. Also probably put in Bb probably because it lies a bit better for band than if it was in C
Please, change the composer’s name!!!! It was never written by Bach! It was written by Johann Tobias Krebs. It doesn’t have the beauty end complexity of Bach’s counterpoint. The voice leading is so weak compared to Bach’s perfect composition skills that I just can’t imaging how people think it could be from him. At the first listen I knew this was wrong.

Loved playing tuba on this. We did it every year. Now I think about it years later as well
I played this in 8th grade

Same! It’s been years but I’ll never forget playing this in highschool
Here I am 15 years after the fact of playing the 2nd trumpet part and having a huge smile on my face.

I remember playing this in junior high band, such good memories. The melodic line has been stuck in my head since then haha
@@matthewcarr9128 Hahaha ya our trombone section also had a hard time with those high parts
I remember learning this but as the original on the organ I love it so much
playing this in concert band on clarinet. I played this on xylo 2 years ago when I did concert band for percussion.

Best part
WERE PLAYING THIS IN MY PROVINCIAL BAND! I LOVE IT
Takes me back to my high school days with our student teacher (now teacher at another district!) conducting this.
Wish me luck, i am playing this today
I'm playing this for the festival next year. Might get the cornet solo.
After so long of the cornets getting the trumpet part the trumpets get the cornet part
Nice music, as always!

BWV 553! The original is in C
@@mlefeb xD I just thought it would be one of the Bb major prelude and fugue
