I have a question. Please clarify in case you know this. If I put 5000 per month in Nifty 50 and say each stock is 100 so I get 50 diff stocks of 50 companies right. Suppose the 50th company gets pushed to 51st company bcz of stock price drop and new company comes in at 50 next month that new company stock would be bought with my 5000 right? Then what happens to that old company (which is now at 51st place) stock? Will it be sold and that money invested into the latest 50 or would it stay in my account?

When you invest in a Nifty 50 index fund, you are essentially buying a portfolio of the 50 stocks that make up the Nifty 50 index in proportion to their weightage in the index. The index is periodically rebalanced to reflect changes in the underlying stocks, such as stock price fluctuations or changes in market capitalization.
In the scenario you described, if the 50th company drops in stock price and is replaced by a new company, your next month's investment of 5000 would be used to purchase shares of the new company that has entered the Nifty 50 index. The shares of the old company that has dropped to the 51st position would not be sold automatically, and you would continue to hold those shares in your account until you decide to sell them.
If you want to maintain a portfolio that reflects the Nifty 50 index, you would need to periodically rebalance your portfolio to ensure that the weightage of each stock in your portfolio matches the weightage of the corresponding stock in the index. You could do this by selling shares of stocks that have become underweight and purchasing shares of stocks that have become overweight due to changes in the index.

2. As you said, if the stock in the 50th position goes to 51st we would still be holding it. But the selling of it must be done by the fund company itself right, as that is the reason we buy an Index fund.

For example, if top 50 is always growing then it will make profits if top 50 swaps completely with new top 50 and I'm left with lots of old top 50 stocks wouldn't that be a loss making investment? Also, what would rebalancing do? Only align weightages of the current 50? Then what about old stock(51st place) that is in my portfolio it will stay dormant?
