My heart is comforted to think Jesus will be back soon. The last week a dear sister in Christ was taken home to glory and I just weep for her nine children she left behind. My life has been deeply rooted here, on earthly things and so I now remember that we’re not promised tomorrow! I want to be ready and not caught without oil in my lamp.
Hi sister Aggie, that is a good choice, to 'fill your lamp with oil'. Since you didn't mention anymore about the nine children of the dear sister that was taken home, I just wonder has your or her congregation organised a tight scheme for the children's care, if their father is still around, with his approval and cooperation ? To fill up your oil container is also done with good deeds, not only scripture readings. God bless you when sharing time and means in love.

@Matthew Mcgraw Yes, @Matthew Mcgraw! John the Baptist had the message of "Repent!, for the Lord is at hand!" And our Lord also told us that same message, "From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, REPENT: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."(Matthew 4:17) It is a turning from sin and turning to God then salvation through His Son Jesus! Our previous state of mind has been reversed, I guess you could say back to Adam and Eve before they chose to defy God. Thank You, Jesus!

@@mitchellc4 I have prayed for you, Mitchell. Jesus is God. He is not the Father. He is The Son. And He is the only way to the Father. Jesus Himself is Life. Jesus is Truth. No one can come to the Son unless the Father draws him. The Father is drawing you. He wants no one to die in their sin. It is a boost to the ego to be on the side of an issue that is controversial. Our pride enjoys being different and rocking the boat. But the Bible makes it clear who Jesus is. If Jesus is not God in the flesh, then there is no redemption for the sins of the world - your sins and my sins. And therefore there is no life after death in God's Kingdom, but a future of torment in hell. Please swallow your pride. Repent of your sins and call on the Name of The Lord. You will then be saved. If you are convinced that Jesus is not God, then make a sincere study of the Bible. Seek God with your entire heart. God has promised to make Himself real to you, including who Jesus Christ truly is.

God The Father is drawing you to His Son in order to save your soul.

@@mitchellc4 Yes, He did say He is God. John 8:58 "most assuredly I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM". And that's why they did John 8:59 to Jesus; they picked up stones to kill Him because they understood what He (Jesus) had just said to them, that He is God. I AM is one of the names by which God calls Himself.

Read carefully the gospel of John, whose MAIN PURPOSE in writing was to show that JESUS IS GOD, and that believing you may have life in His name. John 20:31
Jesus said often, "I and My Father are one." He said, "He who has seen Me has seen the Father." John 14:9
Read Colossians, read Hebrews chapter one, and the first letter of John.
It's very, very evident if you know what to look for.
"The Word," is one title given to Jesus.
"I AM," the name which God told Moses, Jesus used for Himself.

Even the Old Testament - Isaiah 9:6, "For unto us a Son is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder. And HIS NAME shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, MIGHTY GOD, everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."

You must have missed them.

Jews were trying to kill him because He is implying He is God of Old Testament. "I am" as he spoken to Moses.

Jesus also said He is the Lord of the Sabbath day.

You must have missed it when you were reading.
Go back and read John's gospel more carefully, looking for statements such as;
"The Word was with God, and THE WORD WAS GOD,"
and "Before Abraham was, I AM," and, "He who has SEEN ME has SEEN the FATHER,"
and 'Therefore the Jews sought all the more to kill Him, because... HE SAID that GOD was HIS FATHER, making Himself EQUAL WITH GOD,'
and "For a good work we do not stone You, but... because YOU, being a man, MAKE YOURSELF GOD,"
and, Isaiah 9:6; 'His name shall be called...MIGHTY GOD.'

A doctrine of demons is one that leads people AWAY FROM the GOSPEL and from pure devotion to Christ.
Some false teachings -- that you need to work for your salvation; that since you are not under law but under grace it doesn't matter if you live in sin; that Jesus didn't physically rise from the dead, it was a spiritual resurrection -- THOSE are doctrines of demons, doctrines that AFFECT SALVATION.
ESCHATOLOGY doesn't affect our salvation. We can be saved while being MISTAKEN about God's TIMETABLE.
But we can't be saved while being mistaken about CHRIST'S DEATH and RESURRECTION or about the necessity of BELIEVING and clinging to HIM for salvation.

Question , The Rapture is followed by the judgement for the believers according to this lecture and as far as I understood from my learnings there is only one final judgement day for all , believer or non - believer . If Rapture is followed by the Great Tribulation then judgement for all has to be after the 7 yrs of tribulation right ?
