'Gee, did he die? I didn't know he was even sick' LOL that cracked me up. I always remembered little flashbacks from the 'swing on a star' episode, I totally forgot there was more! I love old cartoons so much more than modern ones
At 2:37 "Well, I am Colombus and I am looking for America." At 3:05 "America, we did discover you" Too wrong: Christopher Columbus NEVER knew he discovered America, as he thought he got to India....From that moment on...native-americans are known as indians.
@ScarletNShaneNDamon It seems they were called Indians because the first one to say so must have mistaken where he landed for India, and thus, mistook its citizens for Indians.
Um. Lulu didn't know the correct answers in the first place so she still would have had to go to the corner even if she hadn't have copied of of the boy.
Tubby kinda looks like what Rush Limbaugh would've looked like as a kid. Lulu's gotta be Nancy Pelosi. "But where are the Indians? We're in the American League. WOO WOO!"
As recently as when I went to high school (late 60s), boys were frequently punished with a swat in the rear with a wooden paddle. (Some teachers even drilled holes in the paddles to cut down on wind resistance.) It taught us that they were in charge, not us. I think it would be a great idea if that were brought back. Then perhaps the class would be disciplined enough to where they could actually learn something other than how to harrass the teacher.
this is a real classic. Thanks to the person who gave us an oppurtunity to see these cartoons.
I remember this one so well although
I haven't seen it since the 90's.

You just know those two are going to be married when they grow up.
@143AC I just looked on the IMDB, and found out it wasn't Arnold Stang; it was Cecil Roy.
first they're sent to the corner then they dream about chasing chubby.
I still can't believe Lulu and the gang looked like that.
Back when this cartoon was made, it was perfectly acceptable for teachers to smack unruly students with rulers.
wasn't Alvin Tubby's little brother?
@ScarletNShaneNDamon It seems they were called Indians because the first one to say so must have mistaken where he landed for India, and thus, mistook its citizens for Indians.
I haven't seen this cartoon since I was a child and Kennedy was still president.
was that Arnold Stang as Tubby?
i love here voice
ROFL @ the frog sound :D
BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP
I wonder how Tubby could have been in the Fountain of Youth and not have rejuvenated.
"In what year did the pilgrims land?" I'm not the only one who heard this right?
1620 was the year the Pilgrims came to America.
When Lulu saw Tubby with Miss Priscilla, she resembles to Mae West. (note the hair and voice)

@Stereo4102 You'd have believed it if you lived in 1946. It was common knowledge back then.
Damn you Tubby!
The teacher sure smack the hell outta Tubby. He's get into some serious s**t today if he did that lol.
But how are the girls punished?
they still do in other countries.
Um. Lulu didn't know the correct answers in the first place so she still would have had to go to the corner even if she hadn't have copied of of the boy.
