Which is design to sound alluring to men who want to protect her and make her happy. However, while still sounding soft and pleasant the voice slowly gets more playful and flirtatious. Which intruges her male target even more. Making him think he has a chance to be with her. What he dosen't picks up on is that there's a bit of a mocking tone behind the playfulness thats she's trying to hide as she manipulates him and gradually becomes more sadistic. All while still remaining softly seductive to keep him under her control. Her laugh isn't like like an over the top super villain but more along the lines of naive school girl sounding amused, like you just told her a good joke or you're both playing a game. Which hurts the broken hearted mans ego even more as she laughs at him and making him feel like a joke to her. Like a real narcissist every thing she dose is about her image. Including how she speaks.
i think the anime style is very contemporary and a bit more generic and lost a bit of a horror edge. She looks more like an edgy rich girl than a supernatural being.

Junji Ito's work wasn't meant to be animated I feel like. Instead of being a worthy adaptation, this series is just a pale, lifeless imitation of Ito's work that doesn't understand what makes his work so effective, cuts corners, and disappoints all around.

But she's psychically still among these people and can regenerate and multiply! What kind of curse does that?! A disturbing one that is!
