Actually I was a couple feet away when they were filming this and Mac asked the girl in the video if he could see her copy of his album for the video and he told her she could come with him. She wasn't rudely interrupting out of no where, she was actually invited to go over there. It's all about context

i really appreciate how amoeba editors add snippets of the music the ppl getting interviewed are talking about. it really helps give you a feel of what their listening to rather than having to look it all up
I dont live in the US and my first language isnt english but thanks to Amoeba and these videos i have discovered so much great music. Mac DeMarco has been my latest discovery from this channel and hes now one of my favorite artists.

I read through a couple of the comments on here and apparently he saw her with the album and asked her to come over. When he compares his record to the river that's her copy he's holding. Kinda thought that was neat.
Don't have any pictures with him, but he performed at Purchase College and afterwards I went to a party at the apartment he was staying at. Somehow I ended up sitting next to him and I was looking in his direction and he straight up woogied my hand like in Rocket Power. It was pretty great! He's a chill dude.

As much as the Beatles seem too popular, the reason they are is because of how much they influenced everyone else. They really are the root of a lot of this kind of music. That being said, I'd also check out the Kinks for British pop bands of that era. There's so much to listen to, you'll never go hungry for good music

What a crazy coincidence - Van Dyke Parks worked on the second Happy End album, recorded in LA in the early 70’s. Happy End was Haruomi Hosono’s Japanese folk-rock band, and they’re friends to this day.

Mac has one of the most parallel tastes to my own that I've seen throughout this series
i know he’s kind of the joke of the indie scene anymore, and even though i have never been a big fan (i liked his music just never decided to listen to it very often), he seems like a really good guy and his music has been pretty great despite some claiming he birthed a gross indie wave - it’s not his fault others couldn’t do it as good as him.
I don't even love this guy's music but he seems so chill and he is just so likeable😂😂
