I notice that this table only has slate supporting beams running side-to-side. Don't most higher quality tables with 1 inch slate or more also run two beams end-to-end?
Honestly? It needs to be done by hand because there's no tool or machine that can do it (and it probably won't, given how every pool table will require a slightly unique approach). Getting it right really is where experience and training as a pool fitter really come into their own.
Wow - pretty enthralling to see it literally all come together like that! Did you use a specific time-lapse camera for this, or just put extra-long batteries in your normal one? ;)
Different manufacturers mark them differently, there is no set spacing. It is more of a guide when you are playing to spot where to aim for bank shots. You can decide your own spacing depending on what you thinks looks best for your table.
Last I read on this was equally spaced measured from nose of the cushions at opposite sides. Dividing the actual play surface into 8 and 4 respectively. Hope that helps
Levelling the different slate sections is a tricky job to get right and requires an awful lot of fine-tuning to ensure the entire surface not only remains level, but that each of the sections perfectly marry up where they join too. It pays to get it perfect first time, and not have to redo the installation once the cloth is fitted if you find a problem somewhere.
I doubt you will find one. I am currently working on my own table and have spent way to much time looking for dimensions... manufacturers don't really want anyone copying their designs I suppose.
Now that looks like an easy install, wish I saw more of these models around.

Great video
My basement is in need of one of these sweet looking tables.
Enjoyed the video i would like to know how much does it cost to make your own pool table?
a couple hundred bucks. unless you want slate. then it depends on what you are willing to spend. additional support will be necessary
how do you know if its stretched evenly if you do it by hand?

Can you please tell me where to put the diamonds around the pool table. I have a 7 foot table. 84 x 47.75 I inches. Thank you.

What took them so long?
