The character in the Sherlock series that is the most interesting to me is Jim Moriarty. A Jim and Sherlock pairing would be the most intriguing. Jim is the ultimate lost soul. Jim and Sherlock are psychic doppelganger twins and soulmates. They complete each other.
The character of Mycroft is in the most need of redemption. Greg Lestrade is another lost person that will save Mycroft and teach him to love and care and trust.
I would love to see a relationship between Irene and Molly. They need each other.
I find John Watson interesting as a friend but not as romance. Everyone needs a good friend.
Only my opinion.

I kind of Ship Sheriarty (But I prefer MorMor) to be honest :3 And Mystrade. Mollrene would be kinda cute, but I don't really ship it^^" Johnlock is one of my OTPs, but he'd always get mad at Sherlock so I don't think their relationship would be so good for long.
I like your opinion though.
