  • These are also known as wig grips or scarf grips and can be found at maaany many places.
    I'm yet to find somewhere in Australia that sells them but I certainly haven't looked everywhere!

    Thank you so much! Your video is incredibly helpful, I did not know about these velvet headbands / hair grips. Thank you for taking the time to share this tip with us. Blessings from Midwest America❣️

    I like this idea. Better than having to use Bobby pins/clips.

    I must look on Amazon now - I usually purchase mine from Wrapunzel.

    • @cassandra5516
      @cassandra5516  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I bought a few from Wrapunzel too but the exchange rate is so bad now it's just not worth it for me, sadly.
      I hope you have some luck with the Amazon ones.
      How many do you keep on hand for full-time covering? How often would you replace one of yours?

      @@cassandra5516 I have just received 3 head grips from Amazon Australia - trying one out today & so far it is working well. Much cheaper & no exchange rate.

      I wash mine regularly so I have about 4 in use at all times & about 3-4 spares (different colours).

    I get so tired of headbands doing this! I'm starting to think I have a cone head because I'll put it on and by the time I get to work, it has slipped up to the top!

    • @rosequartz4102
      @rosequartz4102 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's EXACTLY what happens to me! I cannot wait to try this trick, I have a petite head and get so intensely frustrated trying to keep a scarf in place over my ears without it going "floOOP" and sliding up as you described, and a dozen bobby pins just look stupid😅

    • @lemonhead162
      @lemonhead162 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Rose Quartz I've been doing the bobby pin thing, but it looks ridiculous, and the headband still slips up like a cone head! I also get a headache from it. Perhaps it isn't meant to be for me to be wearing a headband or a bandana on my head.

    The word you're looking for is the fabric nap. The nap has to do with the texture of a fabric like velvet. It's almost like going with the grain or against the grain of the fabric.

    This looks wonderful.. My question is: what stops the wig grip from sliding on your hair? My hair is fine and silky and nothing stays in place. Ever. Is this an answer to that problem also? Thanks!

    • @cassandra5516
      @cassandra5516  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Great question! The reverse side of the velvet grips to your hair. When you try to pull it back it will put up some resistance.

      If you search for the name of the product in your own local Amazon search, that should help you find the ones that can ship to you.
