I know barely anything about Thoth, but I’m so intrigued by the imagery. Especially the suits of wands. The scenes in the Sevens and Tens are fascinating (like there is kinda a story going on too). I’m totally here for that.
Definitely putting this deck onto my wishlist, to see if it’d be my gateway to Thoth.
Also thank you for your amazing review

thanks for the walkthrough. never heard of this deck before today. not keen on a sturdy deck as i like 'flipper' cards, that's how i read, so they need to jump out. the thing that works about this deck si the angle it's captured from - typically, it involves looking 'up'. i like the ideas. i'm not totally into the images more to do with the harsh style, it reminds me of 80s terry gilliam films but i think i will get it because the cups are so indulgent. i prefer those meanings to rider waite.

This was my first tarot deck. I connected to it immediately. It is definitely one of my favorite decks in my collection.

This deck was very hit and miss for me. When it hit, it hit hard and I loved it (the swords suite for example) but other cards I really didn't like or connect to. I don't think I'll be getting one. thank you for showing it to us.

The art is very communicative - considering purchase. Thank you for your flip through.

This deck gives me the dark side of life energy.... very interesting... this might be the deck I need.

I actually saw this deck on my journey of finding the deck that gave energy like my novel character (he's a Leo) and have a feeling that this had a Leo energy but did not feel drawn by the sample pictures. But now seeing your walkthrough, I agree with you that the art was really so visceral and drawn an automatic reaction when I see it. I think I might buy it because I feel like this deck could slap some reality into my usual dreamy self. lol.

I've always seen this deck at my local metaphysical shop and I never picked it up because the boxing seemed so bland and boring. However seeing this review I feel like I need it 😅 lol

For me this deck is one that is absolutely not to me, looking at the images it just feels very dark, and dingy and honestly cold, like there’s no gentleness or warmth to this deck. I agree with Natasha the optimal word of this deck is very raw and grounded in reality. I suffer from mental illness, I mean the whole shabang of mental illness, Depression, anxiety (3 different types of anxiety) OCD and I have been in recovery for an ED for the past 10 years, and this deck is just way too much for me. I need decks which have a more gentle and loving feeling, this deck just feels too harsh. I think someone who wants a deck that’s very real and raw and will tell it how it is, is very clear cut, without emotions getting in the way then this deck would work for them. But for someone like me who needs a deck that is more gentle, this deck is not for them. It’s just a bit too triggering, too grounded in reality

Can someone enlighten me, why the empress is a Mother but the Emporer is a dark political man? Also (I'm from germany) Why is the image for satiety a lesbian couple on CSD? Doesn't Satiety mean "the quality or state of being fed or gratified to or beyond capacity" or "an intemperate or immoderate indulgence in something" or the other description "the revulsion or disgust caused by overindulgence or excess"? That does seem a little homophobic to me ... but maybe someone can enlighten me.

A couple of things: First, this deck has RWS inspiration too. The image looks like a standard RWS version. Second, while Aleister Crowley interpreted this card like you said, resources on classical Golden Dawn and for that matter even many books on the Thoth Tarot have a more positive interpretation. It often means that the happy state you see isn't meant to last forever, or that this is the best you get, but for a time only. As in, pride month isn't year long, or consider how corporations act during pride month etc.
