I have 2 laundromats. So, based on my experience, check inside the water pump or the belt is stretched. If the belt is stretched it will make the pulley base hit the motor sides. I have customers in constructions and once in a while I find nails inside the water pump. The sounds are similar. If there isn't anything inside the water pump then it must be a stretched belt. 3rd reason might be the big spring that secures the tub but it rarely snaps. Another reason might be that the whole machine is unleveled and some of the side screws on the bottom needs to be raised or lowered.
Its the idler pulley and mechanism. The drain pump will make a wooshing noise. This is all normal. The Maytag setup is almost identical. When mine was new,the timer actually made alot of noise.I had called Maytag about the timer, and they said it was normal for the timer to be noisy.
Mine makes that strange rattling noise ever so often and has done so for years. However, usually there is no rattling sound. Since it doesn't appear to interfere with the machine's function I see no need to have it investigated.
Mine makes this sound, and I love it, because it sounds like an old 70's hit from the BeeGees!

mine started to make the same noise its the tensioner probably cause the belt is stretching out a bit
You dont know what noisy mean untill you hear my machine spins . your noise seem to be comming from the idler bearing assy.
You ever find out what it was?

Sounds like the pump.

Check the drain pump
