  • Just an improvisation with the Moog Werkstatt-01 & CV Expander analog synthesizer + Valhalla Shimmer reverb.
The background "drone" was made in Logic Pro X using Sylenth1 synth in three separated tracks. Then I processed the sequence with Xenakios PaulXStretch plugin.

So smooth. I just bought one and am looking forward to doing the same.

Thank you. It may look simple at first, with only one oscillator. But it's well built, very fun to use and it has that beautiful Moog sound. Enjoy your Werkstatt!

Gotta love the Paul Stretch. I limit myself with it these days. It's so tempting to throw it at everything.
Have you tried "reverse engineering" Paul Stretch? If you stretch something, then speed it up again. It's full of artifacts as it doesn't actually stretch the original sample. It's also very high pitched so you need to pitch it down, or not, or multitracking with a stack of pitches.
Paul Stretch just keeps on giving. Great video.

Never tried what you say, but it sounds interesting! I still have to experiment more with the plugin.
I'm glad you liked the video, thanks for your comment!

@@sunnteckmusic it's well worth trying. When you want to get a different texture to a sound. I've used it to create really haunted Gregorian Chant and to decimate spoken word.

I’d love to hear this without the digital fx. Maybe just a simple spring reverb or DMM. I enjoy it regardless but I can’t help think the “dark” vibe would have came to the fore.

I've already maxed out my synth budget for this year and the next by buying some Dreadbox synths, but I still love the Moog sound too and I must say this sounds very nice. I won't rule out getting one some day, though I will probably try saving up for at least a Sub 25.
I've mostly done ambient pieces with the Elektron Digitone, which was surprisingly suited to it, but there is something special about doing it on an analogue synth, especially when you find those slightly fuzzy margins between the filter self resonating or not, or some other subtle synergy between different parts of it that you don't expect. I got a Nyx last weekend, and the first thing I did was also a slow ambient piece. th-cam.com/video/Q0SStVLwhoM/w-d-xo.html
    Keep up the excellent work.
