Finally an easiest and cheapest way of making an maniqquine's head (just remind me if i spelled wrong maniqquine i'm really terrible at spellings like this) and BTW thank you very much you made..and finally i can have my very own maniqquine head
This is great! every other diy design I've seen online needs a foam head ready and/or plaster/clay, which I do not have access to, and this is great for a last minute project. Thank you!
Thank you for this video. It is rare indeed that an artist shares his templates. You have enabled many people to try this epic form making. I for one am very grateful to you. Subscribed immediately. Keep going my friend. Good luck.
This is absolutely amazing as Samuel Boshier said all other video say you need plaster or clay so I think this is one of the best videos I can think of. Thank you so much!!😉
This was great! I can easily turn this into something to hold my masks I make without using so much styrafoam. Sfx masks already involve so much waste, I hated how often I would need mroe and more. Also great for spooky headpieces! (Fake wall mounted heads of monsters)
thankyou :) I am a huge marvel fan, have found myself disabled at 44 but hey being disabled from one thing means in some way or form it enables you to do something else like mask making! hell yeah aha thanks for your video pssst on the not so cool side it will save me a bomb on the polystyrene heads i was going to buy for my crochet beanies :) thanks once again aha :) x
Cool video, didn't know that doll heads could be made from cardboard. By the way, I'm liking the Tchaikovsky 1812 overture that you have playing. Beats the heck out of any metal soundtrack that are usually added to these types of videos. Great work.
Thank you, DaliDIY I needed a cardboard head template for my The Day The earth Stood Still, "GORT" robot, and your template worked!!!! Thank you very much and I am finding your tutorials fun and informative.
This is great and so creative! I'm going to have to make one! Also, I have even more respect for you for making a video that fits precisely into the 1812 overture and finishes with the cadence and everything! XD
This is a huge godsend for people wanting to make masks haha thank you!!! I'm totally going to have to try this out xD I tried making a mold of my head with screendoor mesh and expanding foam and....I have feeling its not good lol (I coated in a layer of paper clay to, but all the facial features and stuff were smushed (from the mesh)
Agreed, I don't like my face cast that has the front half of my head made by filling a plaster bandage mold of my face with actual plaster. I can't trust anyone I know to make a proper head cast of me even if I had the materials and am a paranoid shopper when it comes to tools like a mannequin head that are over $10.
I will say for being made out cardboard and paper mache pretty damn impressive what made you first attempt to make helmets this way? Just because or lack of funds?
Thanks so much! I just needed a quick unexpensive head stand to store a few wigs and it worked just great. Thanks again, nice tutorial and even better music ;)
Q: what r the tiny blk squares u use2 hold the bottom of ur mask making in place? Also, is that masking tape u use 2hold up the rest of the mask? Thx. I'm inspired & want 2try this but need 2make sure I buy the correct equipment, hence y I asked several Qs! Thx4 sharing!! :)
Great tutorial video with all the templates and everything...we create and love the arts so much and we believe you have the inborn talent within you...thanks for sharing!!!
Thank you so much for this! Im currently trying to make a cosplay and i need something to put my (unfinished) wig on so it doesn't come undone (as its made out of yarn). This helps so much! Thanks again!
Does the Length in the description by Diameter using the horizontal of the head? Like how did you Measure it? From the top of the eyes to 1/3 part top of the ear?
Okay so I saw this and I totally winged it. I just grabbed two Cheerio boxes and went ham. Anyways it did work, doesn't look like a head, but when I paper mashe-d it it actually looked alright. Overall it fits my wigs for when I need to style them so than you! (and sorry I didn't use your advice to use your measurements)
@@DALILOMODIY Are you sure? It doesn't look like the same. And the template in this clip is only one shape that you just doublekt to make a head, but this template have six single pieces. Well, five single pieces and one duble pice if you cut the big one in to two. Look! file:///C:/Users/matte/AppData/Local/Temp/base_185_single-2.pdf
I know this video is a bit old, but i wanted to ask where to take the measurement? Cause 170mm is 17cm (that's what my measure tape uses) and that's REALLY small, so i know it's not the full circumference, nor is it even half that. Am i only measuring from the top center of my head down to like, the bridge of my brow or what? Thank you~
Maybe this question has been answered and if so I am sorry. When I go to print out the template it prints out small all on just one 8.5x11 piece of paper. In the video you have three pieces of paper for just one side of the head and then you tape them together to make one side. How do you enlarge the image to get it to be three pieces of paper? Thanks!
Hello! Thank you for this video, but I was wondering if the links to the templates were still working, because I was denied access after clicking on them.
I found another web page, off TH-cam, showing this project. It has links for at least 6(?) sizes of templates for these heads. Problem is the links are not working (Google pop-up says, "sorry, failed to connect. Try again later". The publishing note on the top of this TH-cam page mentions the "free template 3 size (SML)" but I don't see any links or URL to find the templates.
Yes, and when I tried the link again, it was able to connect. Oh, also, when I traced the Left side of the template onto a cardboard piece, I decided to stack up another sheet beneath it. I secured their position by nailing in 8 or 9 nails through both sheets, & around (no on) the template. I did this so I could cut through both left & right sides simultaneously and save time by drawing and cutting just once instead of twice.
how would you measure your head to figure out the size you would want? ear to ear over top, nose to back of head over the top and around the head from eyebrows all the way around to starting point?
+Dali DIY I just got done doing this and the the small template gave two right sides and I did two hours of work to get two right sides. And thanks for the info. 👍🏻
Hey Dali, i think you can try spry over your paper tamplate on the cardboard with spry paint. it will save you alot more time and you won't need to use tape on your cardboard cuttings. :)
