I will recommend 3 days fasting protocol make a schedule and give proper healthy feed leave it for 1 hour if he refuses then keep it aside repeat it daily on scheduled time he/she will refuse 1 day or 2 but he will start eating on 3rd day due to hunger.
There will be no problem at all but the only thing is you have to keep an eye on his health to like fever check and all if dog is healthy and active then proceed with this protocol otherwise consult your vet .
