Interesting- the difficult hike you referred to in Scotland is the Devil’s Staircase and in America, one of the most challenging is Angel’s Landing in Utah. So I guess Devils Staircase requires cursing and Angel’s Landing requires praying? IDK?

Exciting! In an effort to quench my thirst for Men in Kilts I stumbled on Grand Tours of Scotland ❤️ I love that series.
I think the 100 mile hike is one mentioned by Paul (wonderful guide in the series)...the English traversing it for the first time didn't know there was a variation between the measurement of their KM and the KM in Scotland (or at least that area). So it ended up being almost twice as long. I don't know if I'm getting the deets right but check it out if interested!
I truly have thought about moving to Scotland with my family, especially to a more rural area. But would be quite a difference from growing up in a major city. This book would be a neat way to get a look at what it's like in Sam's experience! Thus far I have two family members on board...perhaps this will help me convince a few more. 😉😆

Does Sam Heughan know where the mountains under his feet came from? Some of the Scottish mountains were split off of the Allehenies before the Mid Atlantic Ridge split the continents apart 200 million years ago. That was before the dinosuars became extinct at about 65 million years ago. If you want to learn amazing geology watch Nick Zentner's TH-cam programs from Ellensburg, Washington.
