I watched dozens of these videos trying to answer the same problem, but for some reason the way you explained it made it work first time!!! Thank you so much!!!
what if the .accdb file is protected by password? not the vba code? i mean when i open the file it prompt to enter the password it does not allow me to hit alt+f11?? So how can i remove that password? Please reply
FYI This no longer works on Acces M365 App ver 2312. When you change the DPB to DPX and re-open the file, Access deletes the whole VBA project rather than give access now. You have to use an older version of Access to make this work.
I opened the .pptm file withXV132 and it found 3 instances of DPB. I replaced all of them with DPX. Followed the rest of the instructions and when I right click on the VBA Project > VBA Project Properties, the VBA Project Password dialog box, pops up.
I'm afraid that converting from ACCDE back to ACCDB is not a simple task. My understanding is that any objects other than tables (including VBA modules) will likely be lost. That said, there are some companies that you can find with a Google Search who claim to be able to restore everything, but it isn't cheap (ie., US$500+)... if they're even legit.
it's not working in my system. plz give another idea. I am getting message after opening xlsm file Unexpected error. I am using windows7 64 bit and excel 64 bit
any Office filename that end with a "B" are compressed/encoded into Binary form and therefore are not easy to manipulate, or may not be possible at all, although some companies claim to offer the service, at a hefty price tag.

Thank you. That was an interesting exercise for Access.
It also helped me to help an 80 year old programmer who had forgotten his passwords. 🙂

Which Hex Editor are you using?

Muchas Gracias :D Me sirvió muchísimo a lo largo de mi aprendizaje.
What about .mdb extension?
this won't work with binary Office files (ending with a "b") since they are compressed/compiled.
