One of which has the lowest user score for an exclusive on meta (GT7), and another a blatent cash grab remaster 'remake' thats missing half the game. And also not 1 of them on PS+ let alone day one. The difference is you can play simultaneously with three people on the same gamepass subscription and with two people on the same game you bought. Ps+ isn't close to being the same as gamepass. We have ps+ also here, doesn't included the latest and biggest games. Buying games from other regions only work in PS with a different account. On Xbox you can use the same account, same friends, same sharing options. I love my playstation, but it is much more expensive to game in than Xbox. Also no decent backward compatibility like Xbox.

Vrr or variable refresh rate doesn't improve performance it just makes it so that the panel in your tv or monitor adjusts the refresh rate to match the current fps so lag is less noticeable. God of War Ragnarok’s Favor Graphics mode is 4K/30FPS but when paired with a monitor or tv that supports VRR and/or 120hz, the Favor Graphics mode is now 4k/40FPS. Same thing with Spider-Man in its Fidelity mode which is 4K/30 without VRR or 120hz support. I know what G-Sync and Freesync do. But they do things differently on console, some games have hidden modes locked behind 120hz or VRR. Also you forgot to mention VRR prevents screen tearing.

VRR at its core is still the same on consoles like it is on PC, but it can be utilized differently depending on the game.
You can us a 1440p monitor, but you still have to play in 1080p. There’s no 1440p resolution support, you can use a 1440p monitor if the monitor has 1080p compatibility.

Agreed. I put off getting a gaming monitor in hopes it would eventually support it through updates after that 1440p update but I see it will probably not happen. So I went ahead and got 16:9 monitor. Still looks great but that ultra wide looks amazing! If by chance it ever gets that update i will be swapping out to an UW 🙌🏽
At the time this comment was made it would have been better to keep that money and build a pc. Sure a pc doesn’t do 4K at that price but these new gen consoles can barely handle it with their junk components. Built my pc for 650 and it runs everything above 100 fps with a 3060. Now that prices have gone down short term consoles are cheaper but once you start getting subscriptions they eventually cost more than a pc

Apparently in one of the beta tests there was a theme setting in one of the other settings but I don't know if will happen any time soon but I hope it does because I like themes and the ps5 one is getting boring
variable refresh rate doesn't mean higher refresh rate like 120fps. It means it draws to the screen only when the PS5 wants it to. Reducing screen tearing. 120fps means 120fps. Vrr helps if the game can't lock at 120.
TL;DR: They locked a bunch of features at launch and then made it available later. You were always able to install an SSD but you weren't able to access it. The same goes for everything else. Also he mentions 5 updates at the start but only lists 4 things, 1. SSD storage, 2. 1440p Support, 3. Variable refresh rate, 4. PS+ combining with PS Now.

PS5 have that available for testing and you can also do "Fake Quick Resume" by scrolling down to the Trophy section for a Game and tap Triangle. It's usually a bit faster than Xbox's "Real Quick Resume"

I don’t think it blows it out the water but it’s definitely better, especially with trilogy’s. But ps plus gives you the current gen games which I think make a big difference especially with people just now getting a ps5.
well the only upgrade i could think of is getting an OLED..... but a 4K oled 120 hz monitor doesn't exist yet (first gonna be sold for around 1k for 32" model in 2024)

@@kritexzhave played FH5. It's trash. It has 0 of the character that FH1-3 had, has abysmal progression and feels absolutely dead inside. When I can get to hypercars & supercars in a few hours time, i'm going to quickly get bored. And if there is 0 risk for driving fast because the roads are so wide & boring, it's gonna be boring. The fact FH got any rating above like a 7 is an absolute joke. There is no progression, game felt just as stale as 4 (but atleast the seasons there genuinely made the map feel different). The only thing that FH5 has going is visuals and a pretty good handling system. I'm not here to look at a fucking tech demo tho, I want to play a FUN GAME. I've had more fun emulating GT4 on my phone than playing either GT7 or FH5 combined 💀
The 1440p support is half baked tho. To play PS5 games in a “Unlocked Frame rate” or “120hz” VRR must be present. In 1440p VRR is turned off so your back at 60 frames. Thanks 🙏 Sony

It’s wild the PS5 needed an update just to ad more storage lol I feel like the PS5 was rushed to be sold at the same time as Xbox because Xbox Series X has been having all of these and more day one. Quick resume, FPS boost, Dolby vision/Atmos, resolution boost, auto HDR, etc are great next gen features that can only be found on Xbox Series X|S. Being able to just jump into a game that came out years ago like Battlefield 4 or Battlefront 2 and have it automatically play at 120fps because of FPS boost is like magic. Has never been done on a console before.

I prefer being able to switch out my charge and play kits cuz once the battery gets old, you can just go buy a new one and your controller is like brand new, while the PlayStation controllers have their battery locked inside so after 2 years when your battery starts degrading and not lasting as long then the whole controller needs to be replaced. The elite series 2 has a locked in battery too and I don’t like it cuz in a few years it’s gonna get worse and worse and I will have to replace the whole controller just like PlayStation’s controller. A Swappable rechargeable battery is way better.

My friend who has a PS4 is getting a Xbox Series X just for FPS boost. As for the SSD on ps5 it’s slightly faster but not really a big difference lol while Xbox’s graphical power is stronger, example: hitman 3 is 4K native on Xbox series X and only 1800p on PS5, mass effect legendary is 120fps on Xbox but only 60fps on PS5 etc.

That’s why I went to pc. I’m saving money not upgrading to new consoles ever again and I don’t pay for any subscriptions. Consoles are just a money put in my opinion. And PCs offer more games and things you can do with them.

VVR support will be added soon to 1440p. Thou even without it the PS5 is able to hit 115fps buttery smooth. And once it add it should be able to hit a "near locked" 120fps. Plus Sony is allowing more games to run at Uncapped frame limits and hitting over 160fps in some cases. But the same can be be pulled off on Xbox. But the main reason why Sony didn't make 1440p support a day one feature is on account they aimed the PS5 to be hooked up to a 4K TV
Unless you’re me who has gone through a bunch of TVs (hand me downs) and still can’t get a good 4K TV (no I’m not getting a monitor I don’t like them I love gaming at a distance with a huge tv) currently a 65 inch with the bare minimum 4K no 120FPS or VRR and if I pick on when supported HDR the game flickers and it will be a longer black blip at times it honestly scares me sometimes it’ll happen at random

I use extended storage devices on my ps4 and you are completely wrong. You might just play less popular games that have a lower storage requirement, but i need it. I play a lot of bigger games like RDR2, Horizon Forbidden West, GOW, GOWR, COD, all the ac games other than ones not on ps4, etc. So, if I we’re to delete and download games over and over again it will take ages to download the game, especially if it’s these big games. Unless my Internet speed was higher than it’s current speed, I will not be doing that. Your download speed must be like 5GBps if you do that.

Are you getting through the entirety of these massive games in a few hours or something? Or do you have gaming ADHD where you can't play the same game for more than 20 minutes? Playing through RDR2 should give you enough time to download any other game that exists, even with your slow internet.
Also vrr on ps5 is poorly implemented. Doesn't work on 30fps games, and it doesn't work on any ps4 games at all. If a 60fps game dips under 48, vrr stops working. Series x vrr works on every game regardless, including legacy games. Ps5 is great but it seems unfinished.

Running 118 average on my series X. Honestly I cannot tell a difference at this point between my X and PlayStation.it’s all how the game is made and engine it’s made on. Side note I also tossed 3090 on seriesX that’s something to see. It’s very easy to do for all you technicians or technically inclined.

Been an xbox gamer for years I have all 3 now but....the ps5 is something different just feels so smooth starting it, playing games, switch the media apps. The only downfall for me with ps is the cloud storage. Xbox gives you that for free!! It's about time Sony stopped the greedy bellys. Ps3 days was the best for online it was free haha.

I returned my series x for a ps5 after a day and also eventually bought a pc. The only thing that felt different for me on the x was the start up intro.

I have never played any console but i think that playstation has better exlusives. I mean, before sony started porting their titles to pc, there were xbox games which we could enjoy on pc also. But there were many games, whom we could enjoy over playstation only. Also, I think playstation has better games (even if not exclusives now) they have some realistic games like the last of us. xbox has mostly superficial games like halo, and some other of its types. Only Fora and flight simulator are the good games. I am not against xbox. i just want to know your perspective, because many people buy xbox, so there must be many things which i am missing thats why i think ps is better.
It’s funny cause a majority Of Xbox series x/s owners and ps5 owners don’t even get high refresh rate monitors, Most Of me stick to the basic 60hz tvs and stuff and don’t know what they’re missing out on.
I would argue that those things are the bare minimum for a modern system and should all have been there from the get go. There is really no excuse to not have basic things like 1440p output (which is still somewhat janky for inexplicable reasons), VRR/HRF and expandable storage at launch.
Says 825 GB of storage as he shows 667 GB. Smh. I mean it's great that u can expand it but that was just laughably low storage. That's only like 150 GB more than what the base PS4 came with back in 2013 and that 150 GB difference pretty much covers one game by todays standards. I don't understand why they never made it 1TB. Basically one x options from 2017 added to the ps5, due to users complaining,you are welcome. Took them 1,5 years to do it... and that ssd slot was already there which i must say with low ssd prices is a blessing.
PS5 is adding updates that should be in the base OS. That being said I don't see all the hate. I still prefer PS over XBOX due to actually having exclusives. XBOX is just put onto PC day one. In all reality there's not much of a reason to hate on one over the other since to be fair, they play nearly the same, just buy what ever your friends have. I've used PS since ps2 and probably will use them over XBOX for ever since I love seeing my trophies. If I'm buying an xbox anytime its just to play older games and probably wont be one of the newer ones.
You could always add and nvme ssd when you got your PlayStation, I literally did it as I unboxed mine because I knew 825GB was terrible. I also got mine maybe 2 months after launch, so not sure what you mean about that being a new feature. The 1440p support is cool though, even though I’ve been a 4k gamer since the 3090 released.

If you have a fast enough internet connection you don't need more storage than the base unless you have multiple profiles with multiple accounts owning multiple different games. A small subset of the total player base.

High refresh rate and variable refresh rate are not the same thing. They have a lot of crossover, but VRR is not what allows HFR
It helps unlock hidden performances though. Like Fidelity mode with 40FPS instead of 30fps. But I get what you’re saying

Agreed. I put off getting a gaming monitor in hopes it would eventually support it through updates after that 1440p update but I see it will probably not happen. So I went ahead and got 16:9 monitor. Still looks great but that ultra wide looks amazing! If by chance it ever gets that update i will be swapping out to an UW 🙌🏽

Sure a pc doesn’t do 4K at that price but these new gen consoles can barely handle it with their junk components. Built my pc for 650 and it runs everything above 100 fps with a 3060. Now that prices have gone down short term consoles are cheaper but once you start getting subscriptions they eventually cost more than a pc

variable refresh rate doesn't mean higher refresh rate like 120fps. It means it draws to the screen only when the PS5 wants it to. Reducing screen tearing. 120fps means 120fps. Vrr helps if the game can't lock at 120.

PS5 have that available for testing and you can also do "Fake Quick Resume" by scrolling down to the Trophy section for a Game and tap Triangle. It's usually a bit faster than Xbox's "Real Quick Resume"

VRR matches your monitor’s refresh rate to whatever framerate is being displayed on screen. When I can get to hypercars & supercars in a few hours time, i'm going to quickly get bored. And if there is 0 risk for driving fast because the roads are so wide & boring, it's gonna be boring.
The fact FH got any rating above like a 7 is an absolute joke. There is no progression, game felt just as stale as 4 (but atleast the seasons there genuinely made the map feel different).
The only thing that FH5 has going is visuals and a pretty good handling system. I'm not here to look at a fucking tech demo tho, I want to play a FUN GAME. I've had more fun emulating GT4 on my phone than playing either GT7 or FH5 combined 💀

It’s wild the PS5 needed an update just to ad more storage lol I feel like the PS5 was rushed to be sold at the same time as Xbox because Xbox Series X has been having all of these and more day one. Quick resume, FPS boost, Dolby vision/Atmos, resolution boost, auto HDR, etc are great next gen features that can only be found on Xbox Series X|S.
Being able to just jump into a game that came out years ago like Battlefield 4 or Battlefront 2 and have it automatically play at 120fps because of FPS boost is like magic. Has never been done on a console before.

I prefer being able to switch out my charge and play kits cuz once the battery gets old, you can just go buy a new one and your controller is like brand new, while the PlayStation controllers have their battery locked inside so after 2 years when your battery starts degrading and not lasting as long then the whole controller needs to be replaced.
The elite series 2 has a locked in battery too and I don’t like it cuz in a few years it’s gonna get worse and worse and I will have to replace the whole controller just like PlayStation’s controller. A Swappable rechargeable battery is way better.

As for the SSD on ps5 it’s slightly faster but not really a big difference lol while Xbox’s graphical power is stronger, example: hitman 3 is 4K native on Xbox series X and only 1800p on PS5, mass effect legendary is 120fps on Xbox but only 60fps on PS5 etc.

VVR support will be added soon to 1440p. Thou even without it the PS5 is able to hit 115fps buttery smooth. And once it add it should be able to hit a "near locked" 120fps. Plus Sony is allowing more games to run at Uncapped frame limits and hitting over 160fps in some cases.
But the same can be be pulled off on Xbox.
But the main reason why Sony didn't make 1440p support a day one feature is on account they aimed the PS5 to be hooked up to a 4K TV

Unless you’re me who has gone through a bunch of TVs (hand me downs) and still can’t get a good 4K TV (no I’m not getting a monitor I don’t like them I love gaming at a distance with a huge tv) currently a 65 inch with the bare minimum 4K no 120FPS or VRR and if I pick on when supported HDR the game flickers and it will be a longer black blip at times it honestly scares me sometimes it’ll happen at random

I use extended storage devices on my ps4 and you are completely wrong. You might just play less popular games that have a lower storage requirement, but i need it. I play a lot of bigger games like RDR2, Horizon Forbidden West, GOW, GOWR, COD, all the ac games other than ones not on ps4, etc. So, if I we’re to delete and download games over and over again it will take ages to download the game, especially if it’s these big games. Unless my Internet speed was higher than it’s current speed, I will not be doing that. Your download speed must be like 5GBps if you do that.

Also vrr on ps5 is poorly implemented. Doesn't work on 30fps games, and it doesn't work on any ps4 games at all. If a 60fps game dips under 48, vrr stops working. Series x vrr works on every game regardless, including legacy games. Ps5 is great but it seems unfinished.

Running 118 average on my series X. Honestly I cannot tell a difference at this point between my X and PlayStation.it’s all how the game is made and engine it’s made on. Side note I also tossed 3090 on seriesX that’s something to see. It’s very easy to do for all you technicians or technically inclined.

if i had to choose between the 2 consoles i will probably choose xbox just because the xbox game pass, i have it on pc and i love it, only 6$ monthly for a ton of games
I have never played any console but i think that playstation has better exlusives. I mean, before sony started porting their titles to pc, there were xbox games which we could enjoy on pc also. But there were many games, whom we could enjoy over playstation only. Also, I think playstation has better games (even if not exclusives now) they have some realistic games like the last of us. xbox has mostly superficial games like halo, and some other of its types. Only Fora and flight simulator are the good games.
I am not against xbox. i just want to know your perspective, because many people buy xbox, so there must be many things which i am missing thats why i think ps is better.
Its great to know, but sitting n facing the monitor for hr is too tiring , portable is still the best way to play for me

I would argue that those things are the bare minimum for a modern system and should all have been there from the get go. There is really no excuse to not have basic things like 1440p output (which is still somewhat janky for inexplicable reasons), VRR/HRF and expandable storage at launch.
Says 825 GB of storage as he shows 667 GB. Smh. I mean it's great that u can expand it but that was just laughably low storage. That's only like 150 GB more than what the base PS4 came with back in 2013 and that 150 GB difference pretty much covers one game by todays standards. I don't understand why they never made it 1TB. That's pretty much the bare minimum.

Basically one x options from 2017 added to the ps5, due to users complaining,you are welcome. Took them 1,5 years to do it... and that ssd slot was already there which i must say with low ssd prices is a blessing.
PS5 is adding updates that should be in the base OS.
That being said I don't see all the hate. I still prefer PS over XBOX due to actually having exclusives. XBOX is just put onto PC day one.
In all reality there's not much of a reason to hate on one over the other since to be fair, they play nearly the same, just buy what ever your friends have. I've used PS since ps2 and probably will use them over XBOX for ever since I love seeing my trophies. If I'm buying an xbox anytime its just to play older games and probably wont be one of the newer ones.
You could always add and nvme ssd when you got your PlayStation, I literally did it as I unboxed mine because I knew 825GB was terrible. I also got mine maybe 2 months after launch, so not sure what you mean about that being a new feature. The 1440p support is cool though, even though I’ve been a 4k gamer since the 3090 released.
The subscription services just soured this list. Everything else was really good.
I was shocked to discover you need a hdmi 2.1 to use VRR though. Most 1440p monitors don’t have 2.1

The ssd expansion capability was day one. Any of that specific nvme gen 4 ssd worked from the get go they just didn’t really talk about it or have a PlayStation branded one at launch

If you have a fast enough internet connection you don't need more storage than the base unless you have multiple profiles with multiple accounts owning multiple different games. A small subset of the total player base.
