This game was in the Clearance games bin in Walmart when I was a kid in the early 2000’s. My parents were struggling financially so my mom let me choose a game just from the clearance bin for my bday. I got SSX Tricky. Played it on my ps2 for hours on end…. Fast forward to 2025, and this is my kids’ favourite game to play. The game is so good that the next generation still enjoys it. ❤

I played this game every day and I had to mash the buttons to know how to perform the moves LOL and highest score I could get in that map was around 1m~1.5m this video is great :)

It's pretty obvious why this game was loved. Listen to the announcer. Listen to mac commenting on your performance. The musical score is nice and the game play is simple. Basically, make simple repeatable gameplay with personality and your customers will be happy.

SSX racing should be a real sport. Take standard snowboard racing and add: 1.Tricks done reduce your race time (best race time wins) 2.You are allowed to go off track/jump over corners 3.You are allowed to push other riders (no no touching the head / open palm pushes only / no grabbing)

Outstanding! This is my favorite freestyle course. I came close to 2,000,000 once but never practiced it. I bet this took at least a year of planning and practicing the course let alone the time spent learning the basics

No, the tool he uses makes it so that the tricks and airtime he does them in are perfectly planned out to the very last possible frame before it counts as a crash landing. It's ridiculous, quite frankly, but doable.

when you watch him land, he lands every single jump no matter what, looks kinda cheated to me, personally played this game over and over on garibaldi and when you land, it's not that easy to land everything, especially landing on the nose of the board like he does on so many occasions
TAS means tool assisted. He probably either played in slow motion allowing him more precision, or more likely, played it in chunks, redoing all failed tricks and then pacing together the inputs required for the whole thing.
While it would be more impressive if this were done live, it's easy to underestimate how difficult making a TAS movie really is. This is a very good one.

used to watch others play this game on arcade machines so many years ago.. didn't even know its name and it reminds me of when i was younger wow
when you watch him land, he lands every single jump no matter what, looks kinda cheated to me, personally played this game over and over on garibaldi and when you land, it's not that easy to land everything, especially landing on the nose of the board like he does on so many occasions
TAS means tool assisted. He probably either played in slow motion allowing him more precision, or more likely, played it in chunks, redoing all failed tricks and then pacing together the inputs required for the whole thing.
Duke Togo making this much less impressive.
While it would be more impressive if this were done live, it's easy to underestimate how difficult making a TAS movie really is. This is a very good one.
