no, you can't, for that TSOP that is the name of the ir receiver that u will find in tv, that TSOP has an inbuilt ic in it, therefore u have to use a different circuit for that.

Hi Sir , in part 1 we saw that if we face IR LED and photo Diode towards each other the LED Glows, so i have a doubt that cant we use the same circuit for this also? without IC? trying to understand difference.
Ir sensor works on reflection and in projects they are mounted towards a surface
So to detect the signal and compare it whether it is high or low
We need a comparator ic

There are two Amp's in the LM358. The unused amp must be terminated. I built this circuit and the unused amp creates noise. Sesitivity is effected.

what if we won't use the IC ? I think the LED would illuminate the same way. isn't it ? Please ignore my silly question if you feel.
If we don't use the ic led will work same but the output will be too small to trigger any device so we used operational amplifier to amplify the signal
