This is the big question.unquestionably this is played well but is played Seeger style (skip to my Lou etc) up picking. Clawhammer is/was essentially down picking.Yes 2 different styles and arguments rage but they would sound the same. Down picking is maybe more versatile for sound (the cluck etc) I suppose whatever grabs you.I know Jim Botorff favours the up pick but most old timers would dismiss it. It could be argued they would dismiss Scruggs as well.So....just play! Anyway...Well played!.
