Southern Pacific 1950s Era Manifest - La Mesa Model Railroad Club

The La Mesa Model Railroad Club is evaulating its 1950s era diesel fleet. They've been supplimenting their motive power with newer models but also modifying/upgrading the existing fleet. Operating as the Extra SP 6205, this quartet of new Athearn Genesis F7s make their maiden voyage on a test run with 50 cars of various pieces of rolling stock.
The two-bay covered hoppers are soda ash empties headed back to Mojave to be interchanged with the Trona Railway at Searles, CA. After the empties are set out at Mojave, the train will pick up cuts for Taylor Yard in Los Angeles and outlying points.
The units ran flawlessly and look forward to seeing them in use at the next 1950s Timetable & Trainorder Operating Session.
