The Green Road - perfomed by Mark Ford and Ed Smith

This duo version of The Green Road by Mark Ford and Ed Smith was performed on Ford's UNT faculty recital on Sept. 28, 2011. The Green Road was a beautiful dirt road leading deep into the woods near my grandfather's house on Kain Road in Short Pump, Virginia (near Richmond). It was a place full of long walks, adventures, fun and imagination during my childhood. - MF
The original marimba solo by Mark Ford and this duo version are both published by Musicon Publications (www.musiconpublications.com). Mark Ford and Ed Smith teach percussion at the University of North Texas College of Music.

My marimba-tutor always kept emphasizing I needed to stretch my index-finger a bit over the shaft of the mallet. Now I see Mark Ford doesn't do it either.
