Their music, this song in particular was the only thing that comforted me during the lowest point of my life. It helped me to shine in the darkest corner. Thank you Sigur Ros.

sometimes i just want to quit my job, leave home and travel the world aimlessly with a sigur ros playlist on repeat. trek through lush forests, paddle calm flowing rivers, ascend distant mountain peaks, with no company but the inspiring audiowaves of sigur ros' music flowing through my veins. if only life were that simple

Sometimes when I need to think, when my life needs a change, then I hear Sigur Ros and I know heaven is so close thanks to that Iceland group
Any group make you feel like Sigur, Iceland people, you need to be proud of your country and having that great music, honestly. Greetings from Spain

I love how the imagery in my head when I listen to sigur ros seems to be universal in these videos. That almost never happens. In fact, most music I listen to doesn't put pictures in my head. Only Sigur Ros. I love them even more for that :)

This 'song' will either uplift you or depress you - tonight I feel hopeful and full of possibilities, tomorrow I may lose my job or my relationship or someone close to me - Sigur Ros conveys every emotion you have in this, if its a positive it will be cheering you on and if its somtheithing you don't want to face emotionally then let this masterpiece help you let everything out

I was inextricably drawn to listen to this song when I learned that a friend of mine in college had died the previous day. I think it was the closest thing that described what I felt. There's a lot of resolve in this song.

Ashish Gautam Hey, thanks :) I do feel better, about that. Life, in a sense, has both changed and stayed the same. All I know is that I am still a human, in the end.

+Cryoshakespeare Sigur Ros has been my savior in a lot of situations in my life. Especially during the time of my Dad's passing from cancer. Some people turn to other things when they're hurting or in troubled times, whereas myself, I turn to music. And generally, it's 90% of the time always Sigur Ros. I'm sorry for your loss.. Losing anyone in life is heartbreaking.

    • @cryoshakespeare4465
      @cryoshakespeare4465 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

Miselain I relate to you in that sense of turning to music during troubled times. I'm sorry to hear, too, about your Dad. But it's good that we have feelings and music to turn to, like Sigur Ros, when heartbreak and loss looms its head. Here's to those we care about, and the music that helps put it all in perspective.

+Cryoshakespeare and +Miselain ... thank you for your heartfelt sharing. Recently I was feeling very overwhelmed and depressed, and I came across "Route One" parts 1, 2 & 3 that Sigur Ros recorded over 24hrs at the summer solstice ... it was even televised on National Icelandic television ... can you imagine!? I watched on TH-cam for several days & nights ... felt like I had left the planet; and when I returned, I was a renewed person. The music of Sigur Ros is nothing short of amazing!

Everyday I listen to the music of Sigur Ros. Everytime I do, I think to myself; how it is possible for human beings to create something so beautiful?
Nothing pictured in my mind in terms of images does justice to their music.

Ég halla þig á, í ró
Það stóð allt í stað, og þú
Þú söngst til mín svo hljótt
Þú söngst til mín svo hljótt
Í tunglsljósinu ég sé þig á grúfu
Í tunglsljósinu þú breytist í blátt húm

Everything was in place, and you
You sang to me, so quietly

    TY!
Heard in a Belgian documentory as supporting music. Never heard such a thing before... how heavenly....
I needed to know who was the artist of this beauty, so I just mailed to the production of the documentory to get to know who created this...
This is it.... this is so much more than a song, or music....
Dit is niet normaal ... Dank je, Mr. Sigur
    TY!

    To an earlier comment:
Beautiness is not a word...Beauty, however, is.
    Anyways...
I love this song, I've owned Takk for awhile but never noticed this song until recently. Every time I listen to Sigur Ros I find something new...It's so multi-layered. And I absolutely love Jonsi...His voice is the most beautiful voice I've ever heard.

I'd never really listened to it until one day a few months ago, while I was on break at work. I was staring out the window, watching the rain when the song began. Around the 4:50 mark the lightning started.
I always have that image in my head when I listen to it now. It's incredibly powerful.

I really love them and his work is sublime. How can I love them so much and not understand a single work is what real music does, a union between the people through an understanding of the heart and the usage of our ears. As much as I wonder how people can not enjoy this.
