@@fireaspect4756 These days it's about how well they can bat too....Ian Healy was probably the last of the genuine keepers where a batting average of under 30 was acceptable
You have to give credit to Ian Healy. He was the wicket keeper of Glenn McGrath and Shane Warne in their prime. That would have been really difficult for sure.
Warne sure McGrath wasn't at from keeper perspective he didn't have extra pace nor wild swing just impeccable line and length just like Hazelwood so between Hazelwood and starc who do you think is harder to keep
Alyssa and Ian Healy are good keepers but I think with respect to spin bowling and stumping Ian Healy had a much tougher job as he had to keep to Shane Warne
Its really sad that Wicket Keepers never get the recognition they deserve during a game. Its always the Batter or the Bowler that end up Player of the Match even if the WK has taken say five or six catches and a couple of them absolutely brilliant. I doubt there has ever been a Player of the Match award solely won by a WK on the strength of their keeping. As a keeper I have always felt under appreciated, but on the other hand vilified if I have done something wrong.
I know if you drop a impossible catch or just normal ball everyone gets mad at you but they couldn’t do any better and when someone in the field drops a catch it’s ok cause they don’t have gloves on and people think that just because u have gloves on it’s impossible to drop it
As a wicket keeper my teammates keep on saying when I make a mistake who did you do that it’s not that hard. They also always say I can do wicket keeping just because they can catch it. They need to watch it to see how hard it is
Wicketkeeping is so important yet so underappreciated, respect to all the keepers out there
FireAspect 475 I'm a keeper and so is my girlfriend but everyone think it's easy
Same here, the hardest part of keeping is the amount of focus you have to put on every ball of the innings, and that stresses you mentally.

There is such an uncanny similarity between them while keeping with all the gear on!
Wish it had been longer
As a bowler when I have a vocal keeper that can give me constant feed back I bowl so much better.
Ok everyone, only one person can be the first viewer
