- These 2 episodes were great and really made me feel a range of emotions from sadness to hilarity which was a lot of fun. Really felt for Shinomiya regarding her dad. Kafka was awesome in that situation both taking care of the kaiju and telling her what she needed to hear. She knows about him now though but is great for not telling. Other than that yay we passed the exam! And I love the dynamics between all the characters!

Love the interaction between Kafka and Kikokru lol they are basically siblings.
Kafka out here being recognized as the comic relief, at least he broke down Mina Ashido's walls whilst at it.
In ep4 even though it was played for comedy, Kafka commanded the remains of the Honju to life and then back to being dead.
Yeah, I thought so. It felt too odd to be comedy.

Mina is actually 5 years younger than Kafka. They said in the first episode that she is 27. I think that's why Kafka knows about the day she was born.
I loved how everyone got along with Kafka so well right from the beginning. Even with the vice captain. That's actually one less thing to worry about.
Shinomiya may be awesome, and irritating (of course her dad is worse), but Kaiju-8 is apparently that much more awesome. One of two things is occurring with the Kaiju that reanimated the Honju and other Kaiju. Either he is a Kaiju that can hide as a human, or he is a Kaiju that entered a human and took over his mind. Maybe the Kaiju that entered Kafka was trying to take over Kafka's mind but failed. I'm betting the Kaiju are trying to infiltrate the defense force to spy and test their capabilities (and ruin their training with sabotage), thus the attempts to hide in or as humans. The thing about Kafka and his designation as Kaiju-8 is that he is already a special weapon in the defense force, so they have no reason to defeat him or cut him up. They just have to figure things out if and when they realize what he is.
After Kikokru, the vice captain is low key my favorite. You’ll love him. ❤

The below stuff is not spoilers, only speculation, since I have not read the manga and I'm just guessing, but it might sound spoilery to some so if you're determined to remain pure of spoilers, you can avoid.

About the men who stayed too long in the bath: probably it was a hot bath (or it had a hot soak area and a cold soak area, and they were in the hot soak area when the story was being told) and they began suffering from symptoms of heat stress from staying there too long. That's why they were laying on the floor with bright red faces and being fanned.
About the strange monster shown at the end of episode 4, it is your theory that either he has to be the same as Kafka (a half-kaiju that originated from a human) or the inverse of Kafka (a half-kaiju that originated as a kaiju). I think that it is possible that there is a third explanation, or even a fourth possibility.
I don't know this, because I have not read the manga, but remember how he knew how to use a phone to look for news while also talking about how he was unsure how to answer a phone, and unsure about other human customs? How could he get a job and search the news with a phone without originally being human? Yet, how could he be so unsure of human customs without originally being a kaiju? I believe that he might be someone who was originally human but forgot that he was originally human (possibility 3), or that he might be a perfect blend of human and kaiju: instead of getting kaiju powers but retaining his human mind, like Kafka, both minds blended together and in the process they both died and gave rise to a new mind that had characteristics from both previous minds (possibility 4). There might also be other possibilities other than 1,2,3 and 4 as well, I just haven't thought of them yet.
If you're a manga reader commenting below me and know if I'm right, please don't tell me. I would rather learn if I'm right or wrong by watching more episodes.
