In this clip, Raekwon detailed what happened with the Wu-Tang film project he was pursuing that was to be produced by Leonardo DiCaprio. However, Raekwon explained how RZA already had the Hulu series deal in place and wouldn't renege on the agreement. Ultimately, Raekwon felt he was forced into signing onto the Hulu series though he acknowledges the success it's been.

The series gives a lot more room for creativity & multiple plots, even a 2-3 hour movie would have to just be a straightforward biopic. IMO the NWA story would have made a hell of a TV series too, it’s too much history to pack into a regular length film
We need more raekwon interviews...he still sounds like he did in the 90s bro..hell yah
The story of the Wu Tang is more deserving of a series. However a Raekwon movie telling the saga of Wu Tang from his perspective would be dope.
The TV Show idea is way better then a movie with the TV Series they have time to tell the story properly with a movie there's so many things would get cut out to fit the movies time frame Rza made the right decision that's why he is The Abbott
Rae tells stories like he’s rapping lol I love it!
In hindsight, with COVID the Hulu series was the best choice.
Rza has DIRECTED movies and is in Tarantino's back pocket. No, you CAN'T make the kind of movie you proposed for ten million. Budget for "Straight Outta Compton" (with less characters) was $30-$50 million. Rza was right on this one...
They could do an epic short film series. Each movie could focus on a different member maybe 1hr30min each. That shit would be so dope
they can still do the movie though. the series created the buzz.
That Francis Ford Coppola pronunciation for the win.
RZA was right, $10 million to do a film?? That’s an indie budget lol. Plus you cant fit the entire wu tang story into 2 hours man… not possible. Hulu was a much better idea
Rae should see through with his vision on this...that scotch analogy was on point
Chef is such a charismatic dude as is the RZA. I can see why both strong willed individuals would have their differences at times, but the respect and reverence they posses for each other always transcends and shines through with them.
Chef Rae wanted a Wu-Tang cinematic experience, mob style. Straight up. I wouldn't be mad at it.
The movie still gonna manifest, only a matter of time.👐🗽
I'm sure if they had a movie it would've been amazing. But since covid, movies took a back seat to streaming services. And streaming services started making these bomb ass shows, and the revenue from a good series is insane. Rza made a good move
