The whole spinning really fast thing wasn't just for the sake of looking cool, Bakugo was doing that in anticipation of Todoroki using his fire, since Bakugo was counting on using the intense wind he created around him to redirect the flames away from directly reaching him as he dove in for the kill. As much as he seems like a brute, Bakugo is freaking smart.
@@venablesanyie7104 Yeah, as far as just raw battle instincts, I'd only rank a few of the very top most Heroes as possibly better then him at this point. And most of those he'd easily pass up once he gets a few more years of experience.
Yeah exactly. Although yeah he was more of an asshole in earlier seasons, the one thing that always stayed was his drive to win, for sure. That's still what Deku admires about him 'till this day. Like sheesh even when he's wounded he'll do whatever he can if he can still move
Yup, dude is driven AF, but if he wins, it's going to be because he was the stronger, more skilled fighter, otherwise it's not actually proving he's the best.
Yeah. The only one time he went against that was at the bakugou & deku vs all might fight. Dude was so ptsd because of his childhood friend that he almost didnt even wanna win anymore.
It does feel like Sasuke winning, but not really, considering he's been fighting opponents that have already been sick or not take him as seriously. Meanwhile Naruto mainly fights opponents on their 100%.
OH MY GOD I LOST IT at the end, i totally missed that there were after credit scenes after this episode!! Really happy that you're enjoying the series so far!
So I feel we've seen enough that I can talk about this without it being a spoiler or anything. Shoto's mom isn't really a bad person. She was abused to the point where she was constantly afraid for her own well-being, and she was mentally unravelling and panicking. Shoto poked only half his face around the door frame, so she only saw red hair and a blue eye, which is the same thing she saw every time she was beaten. If you know how Pavlovian response works, it makes sense that in that split second, she threw something in fear to protect herself. Only after the fact did she realize she hurt Shoto. She's a victim of Endeavor, and Shoto suffered as well. Even as a kid, he realized that was the case. And you hear him here saying he was worried visiting her would upset her, or cause more mental damage. It's not like he hates her. I know some fans, to this DAY, call her an abuser and a bad parent. Some even go as far as to say she's the real problem, not Endeavor. I hope you don't fall into that mindset. This series has a strong theme around breaking cycles of abuse and whatnot, and this story is a good example. Anyway thanks for coming to my TED Talk, I appreciate you reading 👍
One thing I really love is how Shoto takes this all, all things considered. He recognized his mother was just as much a victim in that scenario when it would be fairly easy for a kid his age to blame his mom. And he recognized the danger he may pose to her mental state if she saw him in the hospital. I also really like that it wasn't a single episode fix for Shoto. Deku helped him take a healthy first step, but he still needed to work things out internally and he resorted to mostly using Ice in the following matches. And if Endeavor hadn't shouted, he probably would have used his flames in his match against Bakugo, at least for 1 attack. That's likely how triggering Endeavor's voice likely is. I want to say more, but they're spoilers lol
@@taqresu5865 I agree. Despite all he's been through, he's so emotionally mature. It's kind of sad how the trauma forced a high school kid to grow up so fast and be more of an adult than his family, but it also gives hope to the future, as mentioned in a more recent episode. Shoto's a good boy, I love him lol
@@BeyondBlue22 Indeed. He was written very well. It would have been so easy to write Shoto into a stereotypical edgy teen, but he's not. He's a very nuanced character who had to basically forge his own path.
3:25 "DAmn- OHHH SHI- OHHOHAHA- AYYYYOOOO?!?!?!?! Nahhh, hes a menace.......That was way to smooth." Felt that reaction. I reacted the same way. Had to reply is like 3 times first time I'd watched it😂 It was to damn smooth. Katsuki is no joke. Gotta love him. He is that guy. Always has been🤷
*FYI:* There was an interview in 2015 for this in manga that Horikoshi said *Todoroki would've won* if he used both sides and that's what he was gonna do orginally, but decided it would be too simple for him to get over his issue with using both sides that quickly without hesitation - since his issues with Endeavor runs deep and he later visits him mom to make peace for it. Which is good he prioritized character writing than making him have a hype win for climax. It's a trope subversion. (Source: Mando Kobayashi Manga Taisho 2015)
THANK YOU, finally someone giving sources. I'll have to check that out. I was under the impression that Todoroki using his left side would have been pointless due to the smoke funnel Bakugo made, it would have choked out his flames and redirected them around Bakugo, causing them to miss. I'll have to check out that interview.
@Slipstream Also to add: It's not just his flames as separate entity. it's about the combined power of both together for that type explosive release he had with Deku using both in synergy. Freezing heatwave move is smaller version done in S5.
I'm sorry but Horikoshi said a lot of things in his interviews (like how Deku could've won against Todoroki eventhough I think that's bullshit, Deku standing a chance against Todoroki needed the biggest asspull of the century) What matters is that Bakugo won this fight and based on what I know of these two, Bakugou could've won against Todoroki as far as I saw. If Horikoshi wants to say otherwise then he has to be brave enough to actually show me the power levels on screen and not in his interviews. I can't judge these things based on interviews. Based on what I see, Bakugo is the strongest one of the three in season 2
@Iammemys Umm, no he didn't say this with Deku... (site your specific interview source for that like I have). He was talking about for Todoroki vs Bakugo for this statement specifically, not to do with Deku, because he obviously wrote the outcome in the story for Deku to lose. lol Todoroki is stronger in raw power, what gives Bakugo advantage his techniques. Bakugo isn't stronger with raw power alone. A manga databook (Ultra Analysis) also puts Todoroki at (S) for power and Bakugo at (A). What Bakugo has over Todoroki is higher status for technique.
I know it's funny and it for the humor of Bakugo being tied up But like..Personally I think..It would've been better to not give him a medal publicly(Kind of how they didn't do it for Iida it for family reasons)... Rather than chaining him up like that.. That must be humiliating as if he already doesn't get called out by the public for being the victim in the sludge villian incident. ;-;
Watching your reaction I remember how much I used to love MHA in season 2 and 3 . Everything was more ballanced and my favorite characters were getting the love they deserved . Unfortunately haven't been enjoying MHA at all recently but this was a reminder that I used to like it
Even if todoroki used flames bakugo wouldve won Bakugo will slightly be slightly resistant to fire cuz of quirk and also fire would make him sweat more which means more nitroglycerin so hed actually kinda be stronger
Nope - There was an interview in 2015 for this in manga that Horikoshi said *Todoroki would've won* if he used both sides and that's what he was gonna do orginally, but decided it would be too simple for him to get over his issue with using both sides that quickly without hesitation. @@raec5426 the power ranking thing.. i think its only the quirk. Todoroki's quirk obviously have more power than bakugo's as he has two. But in terms of how they implements it. Bakugo was definitely a lot stronger here than todoroki , when shoto didn't even knew how to control his fire. Bakugo would've easily won. And Horikoshi deciding to not let todoroki win i think bcoz horikoshi's style of story telling , everything always have a reason and justification, and shoto winning here without even understanding his own power was not horikoshi's style at all. @Faiza Khan You are basically saying what I said. Todoroki has more raw power, Bakugo has more technique with his. That's basically what I said and what databook status is conveying as Bakugo has higher techniques stat. lol Again, this is Horikoshi saying Todoroki would win here if he used both - so that's what the author says himself in midst of this fan speculation, is all I'm saying for this match... so that's what Horikoshi said would be the outcome here. lol

Bakugo: Won the 1-vs-1’s
Todoroki: Won the Cavalry Battle
Midoriya: Won the Obstacle Race
says alot so basically midoriya is strategic, todoroki's quirk is useful especially in teams and bakugo's a fighter.
