Loved this as a kid watched it at lunchtime during the holidays. Being an only child my mum bought me a bar billards set dart board and shove a'penny board which kept me amused for hours
Marvellous stuff. Great to see real sports and true athletes! Last time I played bar billiards was in 1990 in The Swordsman in Stamford Bridge near York. I also remember playing in the Cross Keys in Goodramgate, York in the late 1980s. I don't suppose there will be many tables left in pubs anywhere now.
i wish this was still around, i play a lot of darts on a doubles board and i believe i would be up to this standard and beyond. over 450 trophies local but you cant get far on a doubles board.
Watch "Indoor League 1" and Freddie Trueman explains it; "this is real darts on a Yorkshire board. No trebles, no fluky shots, just a hell of a lot of skill!" 'ave it!!
I need a bar billiards table.
Looks like a great wee game.
If only the world was still like this.

Bar billiards is such a great game. So many pubs have removed it as they want to make space for drinkers.
The Pontefract headmaster versus the lorry driver from Gainsborough. Classic stuff.
Why isnt this on tele still? instead we have to watch all this reality talent shows, this is real talent!!

Fred Trueman - fashion icon.
Marvellous stuff. Remember it well. Was prompted to look up Freddie when I heard a statue of the great man had been erected in Skipton today.
Bar billiards looks harder than snooker. Get rocket ronny on there after a bit of snow White. Let's see what Vera thinks of that
Nintendo should do a Wii version of Outdoor league! Champion
I wish Taffy John was my headmaster
Nice bit a fooking pocket billiards, Fred

I almost laughed at Fred's dress sense, until i realised that since i moved to Aberdeen, they still dress like that in 2011!!

Hard Darts for Hard people, no doubt.

"Married but his wife is a bit touchy about darts, so I'm told."
