After about 8-10 months, the turmeric plants are ready for harvesting when the leaves start to turn yellow and dry up. Harvesting involves carefully digging up the rhizomes from the soil using tools like spades or forks. Once harvested, the rhizomes are washed thoroughly to remove dirt and debris. Then, they are boiled or steamed to facilitate the removal of the outer skin. After drying, the rhizomes are ground into a fine powder using grinding machines. The resulting turmeric powder is then sieved to ensure a uniform texture and packaged for distribution and sale.
