This is probably one of the best devices to introduce anyone to the wonderful world of e-readers and e-books. I have a 2GB 2011 Kindle 4 that is still going strong. The barebones Kindle devices are quite the little soldiers.
Congratulations! As someone who's used the paperwhite (7th gen) for 6 years, am sure it'll become your best friend. As for lovers of print, all I can say is they are simply confusing the plate for the food. Happy reading.
My 2 favorite techy items are my Switch lite and my Kindle! In all honesty you don't need a screen protector. It causes a glare on the screen which would defeat the purpose of being able to use an ereader out in the sun. As long as you have a flip cover that is enough protection. This is coming from someone who has owned a Kindle for years, carrying it in my purse every single day and has never damaged one. Also putting in on airplane mode makes it last even longer than it already does!
@@yuferia6541 I was actually talking about a flip cover. I purchased a screen protector for my 10th gen kindle before and it added glare to my kindle screen. If you can find an anti glare one than go for it but I haven't seen any lol.
I also got the Kindle Basic 10th gen in white. I love it. I eventually got the stylus to use with it. It has a plastic tip to hopefully avoid scratching the screen. It works really well but not something that I use that often. I got it for when I do go back to taking courses I would be able to highly easier with it rather than using my finger. I didn´t get a screen protector as I heard that it adds glare to the screen, which defeats the purpose of getting a Kindle vs using a tablet or phone. I haven´t tried it so I don´t know how true it is. I have noticed they sell screen protectors with a mate finish, which might help. I got a case for mine at I find it to be much easier to handle and behaves like a book. I also got a wireless charging system for it, which just made it even easier to use. I only remove it when I have to connect it to the computer to either sideload a file or do a manual system update (which occur about every 2 to 3 months). Definitely worth getting it. You could try a magnetic charging cable with it too.
Just sharing : Your kindle screen wouldn't consume power unless you were swapping on the screen so thats why the screen already turn on out of the box. Elink display is fantastic
Yeah, white is where it's at. Even the brand new 11th generation Kindle Paperwhite models don't offer an all-white option. That's the one I want to buy! Come on Amazon - it's in the *name* !
When I bought my Kindle, 11 years ago, I put a Screen Protector on it "Invisishield," if I recall, but it looked awful, so as it was in the OEM case, I took it off and it's never been damaged, but then, it's never been dropped. More recently, the case broke, taking it off, so it's now completely protection free. So far, so good, but then, it's pretty ancient. If I "upgrade," I'd definitely get a case for it, for when I travel/go elsewhere!
If you want Kindle Unlimited then yes! The first 3 months are free with a purchase of a Kindle, but then it's $10 a month. I had it but I didn't like it so I cancelled it and just started using Libby which has way more books I'm interested in than Kindle Unlimited does :)
Hi , excuse me I have a question about the kindle . I wanna buy it but I don't know which choose . What's the different between your kindle and the kindle paper white ? Thank you for reading x
I want to buy one, I really want the white kindle because I think it looks better than the black model, plus: less finger smudges, but that white is soooo bright, its burning my eyes. Do you find it uncomfortable at all or do your eyes adjust to the white frame? c:
I have an updated video where I review this Kindle here! th-cam.com/video/eaWCiZtbDzk/w-d-xo.html
The only thing the kindle needs is a case actually. The screen is very good and most protections will put shine on it, which you don't want.
I totally agree, but I don't even have a case on mine since the Kindle itself is really strong
well, you should opt for the matte screen protector. though it is made of plastic but it stays as glare-free as it is.

Totally agree with this!
i bought mine yesterday and the white is so minimalist

I just ordered this Kindle and was hesitating with getting a screen protector but your comment reassure me, thanks!

I can't wait to get my kindle for my birthday!
hope you share your kindlw setting and favorite books
When u buy a kindle do u also have to get a separate subscription to be able to read unlimited books?

@@HiyaMsMaya Can you read Libby books on your Kindle?
electrical devices usually come with the battery half charged, because batteries are best stored at that percentage
Do you know if their waterproof or not
is it always in black and white or you can change it to color as well?
I use to have that same Kindle too. Sold it. It’s just too slow and it skips pages. So annoying.
I love the white. can I paint my kindle
I'm getting the same kindle as u unboxed tomorrow for my birthday!
Yay happy birthday!
@@HiyaMsMaya thank u!
can you print from your kindle? i have one manga that i can't get in paperback, only with the kindle...
Have you taken the OA for math for elementary educators 3 ? If so, how was it & what should I expect? I’m nervous to take it 😬
I have not yet, I'm sorry I have no advice!
how did u get 8 gigs?

BUT does it show clearly in bright sunlight? (That's why I like the paperwhite).
Definitely love the white color!
Haha I honestly haven't tried, but I'll definitely bring it up in my review video!
Pretty girl. I think you might regret not getting the Paperwhite. Huge difference in different lights.
@@sunnyday3041 what do you think of the oasis? I'm considering getting that model
@@miao7002 it’s the best one there is!
After downloading the books, do you still need WIFI to read it?
does it come with a pen all ready?
Does the pen work for writing notes?
On a tablet, yes!
Your video helped me a lot!🥰

I personally don't find it being an issue!
Great video
