It is tecno, probably trance is the correct sub-genre. @BananaBeach519: EuroDance started around '91, Snap being a real break-through pioneer, DJ Bobo actually (Somebody dance with me, completely underrated and way aheaf of its time.) You have groups like Dune, 24-7, 2unlimited. Very simplistic base drums. By 94 you already have Marusha's 'Somewhere over the rainbow' and Scooter's 'Hyper Hyper' (also epic and not getting the credit it deserves.) and you start having happy rave and trance, which later progresss into trip hop (Faithless) and Jungle. Westbam, Dr. Motte, PaulvanDyk are some of the other big names that come to my mind from the greatest time of techno. The time you are refering to (2000-2010) happy rave, trance, all that was pretty much over in the mainstream and in clubs. There were some big beats pieces e.g. by chemical brothers and then it was full on back to house in the clubs. (Pretty much the same old ... they played in the 80's in England, mainly beats, not much else, idk who thought that that was a smart idea, certainly the clubs were becoming a lot emptier at that time.). Only in the Netherlands, I believe did techno keep its popularity and sometimes (Dj Tonka) a hit found its way to other parts of Europe.

And the woman's voice sounds squeaky and overly high-pitched, even more than this one. Scooter's is my least favourite. I think I prefer this over the original because the pacing is better and this has a better ending. But I did like the bit in the original near the start about the world making him clinical, respectable, etc. It reminded me of The Little Prince, where the stars were taken out of the sky and turned into electricity, and someone's toy airplane was turned into paperclips.

Wow.... Never ever thought I'd hear another remake of The Logical Song as an adult! A little story... The Scooter version came out when I was 19, mom had just died, dad completely skipped out when she left, I had no brothers or sisters, nor really much family to speak of, no tribe to look after me or to feel a part of... Not surprisingly, I coped poorly and was heavily into partying, drugs, and alcohol - every single weekend, didn't care how or with who. Somehow, as spontaneous luck would have it, I met a crowd of Russians here in Sacramento at one of the parties I went to. They were so impressed (they said), they'd never seen an American girl drink vodka the way I did 😂 certainly a funny thing to bond over... But over the course of just a couple weeks, they adopted me into their little family, a misfit band of Russian young adults. Those friendships turned into the family that saved my life at that time. I felt like an orphan with no home. They made me feel seen, safe, and taken care of. The girls even taught me what my mom never did (and at that point, couldn't) - how to keep a home clean, how to cook, grocery shop, and that you always get dressed in nice clothes and look presentable, even if its just to go to the grocery store 😏 Russians are some of the most generous and caring people, even if they have a reputation for being "shady" (here in the states anyway). But I've always tried to see the good in people. I was always fascinated with their beautifully tragic history, such dark and richly romantic language. They all had such complex traditions and customs, bringing everyone together in community. Even at such a young age, there was such an intimate relationship with loss and sacrifice that the high esteem and respect they held for their elders who had died due to war, famine, as well as those of whom had attempted to flee religious persecution, was always mentioned at least once throughout any party with alcohol (the custom being, you do not "cheers" or *clink* when drinking to those who have passed, it is to be a somber moment). There is a lot to be said for tradition and respect in today's society. I never was an overachiever in any way, I was of very humble means back then. But I had always been honest and loyal to a fault... but with Russians, it was never a fault. It was a rare commodity, and I felt for the first time that I held value because of it 🙏💓 I'll never forget that period of my life or the people in it. And now when this song brings back all those memories of late nights turned early mornings, dancing to 90s euro trance, with the smell of cigarettes and black leather jackets lingering in the air... I will think of fondly and with warmth in my heart, the Russian people who saved me way back then 💓

Wow.... Never ever thought I'd hear another remake of The Logical Song as an adult! A little story...
The Scooter version came out when I was 19, mom had just died, dad completely skipped out when she left, I had no brothers or sisters, nor really much family to speak of, no tribe to look after me or to feel a part of... Not surprisingly, I coped poorly and was heavily into partying, drugs, and alcohol - every single weekend, didn't care how or with who. Somehow, as spontaneous luck would have it, I met a crowd of Russians here in Sacramento at one of the parties I went to. They were so impressed (they said), they'd never seen an American girl drink vodka the way I did 😂 certainly a funny thing to bond over... But over the course of just a couple weeks, they adopted me into their little family, a misfit band of Russian young adults. Those friendships turned into the family that saved my life at that time. I felt like an orphan with no home. They made me feel seen, safe, and taken care of. The girls even taught me what my mom never did (and at that point, couldn't) - how to keep a home clean, how to cook, grocery shop, and that you always get dressed in nice clothes and look presentable, even if its just to go to the grocery store 😏
Russians are some of the most generous and caring people, even if they have a reputation for being "shady" (here in the states anyway). But I've always tried to see the good in people. I was always fascinated with their beautifully tragic history, such dark and richly romantic language. They all had such complex traditions and customs, bringing everyone together in community. Even at such a young age, there was such an intimate relationship with loss and sacrifice that the high esteem and respect they held for their elders who had died due to war, famine, as well as those of whom had attempted to flee religious persecution, was always mentioned at least once throughout any party with alcohol (the custom being, you do not "cheers" or *clink* when drinking to those who have passed, it is to be a somber moment). There is a lot to be said for tradition and respect in today's society.
I never was an overachiever in any way, I was of very humble means back then. But I had always been honest and loyal to a fault... but with Russians, it was never a fault. It was a rare commodity, and I felt for the first time that I held value because of it 🙏💓 I'll never forget that period of my life or the people in it. And now when this song brings back all those memories of late nights turned early mornings, dancing to 90s euro trance, with the smell of cigarettes and black leather jackets lingering in the air... I will think of fondly and with warmth in my heart, the Russian people who saved me way back then 💓
