- I'm not gonna lie, ice fishing for catfish is quickly becoming an addiction. In the words ol' Josh, they're the "lake trout of the Midwest". They're challenging and finicky, fight hard and get big. Not sure what else you could ask for out of a fish while ice fishing. I might be in love.

It may look cold but I know when you're out doing it it's not too bad I grew up ice fishing but we haven't had that cover winter here in Indiana the last few years good job on the fishing and keeping up the video Spencer

Biggest bass Ive ever caught was on giant live gill on a limb line. When I got to him he was so tangled up in the brush I had to unhook him under the surface....talk about nerveracking..

I got 37 northern today they were all in 3-5 FOW. So maby the channels shallow too? I mean usually they are on 20 foot deep flats by current so idk
On really nice days they seem to push a little bit shallow, but usually not that shallow till ice out

@@RiverCertified lol too funny I think i have the exact same one. I stopped by a restaurant here in town and they gave me all their empty pickle buckets. Most of them I drilled holes in the bottom and grew tomatoes in. But I kept one for using as a seat while ice fishing.. im sure this is like the coolest story you have every heard.....I have stories just like this one All day long! We go fishing together I can prove to you i have everyday run of the mill stories that are as mediocre story content as they come. Its quite impressive. One time I went shopping and but Yum dingers 2 for a dollar... I bought all they had.....see? I got all the stories.

Loved the sparkly nails cking out the lateral line. Cool vid. Large live shiners on gold hooks catch alot of channels round here. Also crappie seldom go down for a bait. Great vid my friend and keep your powder dry young man 💪😎
Ya fishing those shiners through the ice in winter too? I've never had much luck with large live baits through the ice for anything other than walleyes or northern. I kept some bluegills yesterday for the first time in years. Still used a few for bait haha. You do the same sir!

One time in the river winter time i caught a bass to with cutt bait going for catfish . What the hell about a 3 in a half lb er hit on a big piece of bluegill
