There are some serious mistakes and miscalculations in video, no T50 but FA50 :P And as far as i know not 180 Apache but not more than 96 witch is still huge amount, and F15 still isn't confirmed... Abrams number will be 366, and about suwałki gap... in event of war even Polish military commentators often says that russia will try to make corridor throught there but nato will just have to make one throught kaliningrad because 80km gap is too narrow to secure supply route to baltic states anyway, and ataking there is harder than said because suwałki is lake district with numerous lakes and swamps and nearly no roads, it will be much easier for russia to go stright for Wilno because of far better terrain for attacking with armored forces.
The FA-50 and T-50 is the same thing, just a sub-national variant name. It's like how the Nordics call their CV90's CV90NO, CV90SE, CV90DK etc. Agreed on the Suwalki, but I think it would probably be a better strategy to go for enlarging the corridor North of Goldap and Wegorzewo and into Belarus than going straight for Krolwiec.
@@MilitaryRated No.Not the same n not "just a sub-national variant name": F(Fighting)A(Attacking)-50 and T(Training)-50.First variant is light multirole fighter, second is advanced jet trainer..It's like Boeing E-7 Wedgetail (airborne early warning and control aircraft) and Boeing 737 (airliner) and Boeing P-8 Poseidon (maritime patrol and reconnaissance aircraft)..Same thing ?I do not think so.. What you write about is : T-50IQ (Iraq), T-50TH (Thailand) and FA-50M (Malaysia), FA-50PL (Poland)..
@@MilitaryRated Elaborating on this issue. FA-50 is militarized variant of T-50, what is a trainer. But more important issue is that they are acquired more to replace costly F-35 during peace time operations. And also operate as drone hunters and CAS, alongside provide stopgap as trainers. They are not intended as mainline fights! F-15 would not happen! While there was such proposition, literally everyone say that additional bath of F-35 is more likely. Suwalki Gap is Russian weakness. Not NATO weakness. If Russia attack NATO, Kaliningrad end under automatic siege. It is why Russia need either ignore it or try break through Suwalki to reinforce it. Of course it would cut off land corridor to Baltic's. But it was more a issue before Finland and Sweden entering the NATO.
I don't think any country should play the role of a leader, and I'm certainly not a nationalist. The fact is that the title of this film should be 'How Poland is Becoming a Military Powerhouse Again.'
@@matt-eu-poland now read my comment once again and what you wrote. Did I said poland does it? no. So i dont understand your comment under mine either.
As far as I gather, the contract stipulates that Poland has the right to buy 180, whether they'll do it or not remains to be seen, but from looking at how they've invested elsewhere it's not unlikely that they'll go for all of them.
The great weakness of the army in Poland is its small number. The Polish army has 200,000 soldiers, a large part of which are officials. There is no compulsory military service in Poland, which means that the society is not prepared for war and there is no army of reservists ready to face the large Russian army.
You forget that Ukrainian Army also has 200k soldiers and Russian ground force part was 290k. Idea that NATO countries do not have mobilization is ridiculous misconception. Poland never removed mobilization system, only canceled pointless conscription. The number of reservists is unknown, but it is because due to structural changes, no one know exactly how many there is total. It is because during communism numbers were not publicized.
@@GS-yg9wk Russia have milion army before war and 300k is mobilized only to cover ongoing losses. Currently Russia has half milion dead or crippled and is weaker then before the war. Agreed. The US do notice it, but at the same time I think the US are preoccupied with Iran and China. That doesn't mean it'll neglect the Nordics and the Baltic region, but I think we'll have to find a way for the US to do what it needs to in the Pacific while Europeans will need to do the job in Europe. Poland is well on its way to being able to be the European backbone of NATO, with the Nordics/Baltic states also taking things very seriously.
@@MilitaryRated As far as I understand US was more annoyed that they need carry Europe by hands (forgetting that they intentionally designed it as such). Now they want strong ally, who could hold for its own, before cavalry arrive. What would give them more flexibility on other fronts.

The term superpower refers to something very specific. A power with the ability to project power any place in the world at any time. Poland will never have this capability, as its too small. There is only one superpower today and thats the US. You are thinking about regional power, not superpower. When it comes to the investments, how can they afford it, and especially the maintenance costs? Its a question no one has answered.
Perhaps the author means “superpower” in a European context, rather than a global one? But you are absolutely right in your definition of superpower. But I disagree that the US today is a superpower, it is the strongest country in the world but in my assessment no longer a superpower. Thus, the world lacks a true leader today, which is also the reason why the world has become so messy because the world is looking for a new leader. Can the US take back the title? It is not impossible. I hope so. I would rank the US as Great Power ++ The US can no longer act on its own as it used to, but depends on outside help. It also does not have a super economy, it has a lot of debt and it no longer wins wars. It also has major internal problems, but Russia and China have even bigger internal problems. So the US is being saved by a weak outside world, you could say, which could give them an opportunity to come back. China had everything in its own hands to take over, but became paranoid. The CCP is paranoid and does not trust its own population. As a result, the outside world does not trust China either. They absolutely suck at diplomacy. You can't be that stupid if you aspire to be a superpower. Diplomacy and street smarts are on the other hand one of the Americans' strong assets.

By 2030 Poland will be a global super power not a regional one its already at that point lol most of the nato countries are regional powers (china, usa and till war with ukraine russians)
Nonsense. Poland will have the largest conventional land force in democratic Europe but without the ability to project that power outside its region as it lacks a large navy and airforce and does not have nuclear weapons.
If they do all it will cost about 10% of their GDP. They are now focusing on the Army and Air Force. They have the low cost FA-50 and the medium cost F-16. They are adding the F-35 in the near future but the 180 Apache is a political pipedream. It too will end up with a high low mix. As they are buying multirole helicopters and those will probably get two or three dozen Apache E as high end option. Poles are hardworking not stupid so they won't bankrupt themselves for generations on unnecessary equipment.
Usefullness of attack helicopters has been questioned by some after the experience of war in Ukraine, but they have seen successfull use as well. If there is an unlimited budget during peace time then I guess a whole lot things can get acquired without taking cost-effectiveness into account that much.
@@jacksonteller1337 Poland will not buy the A129 because the decision has been made to purchase the AH-64 Apache. By the end of this year, a contract for the purchase of 48 Apache helicopters will be signed, and the decision whether to purchase another 48 will be made next year.

On top of that it is an extremely divided society with half of population harbouring some sort anti democratic and-western sentiments.
Man, you messed up everyting about Suwalki and Kaliningrad. There's almost NO army in Kaliningrad, Putin sent all the troops to Ukraine. Suwalki is a very difficult terrain, there's almost no chance anyone will try to move there. One of Polish Generals said that if war with Russia starts, then Kaliningrad will be the swiped out of the map in matters of seconds. Putin knows that war with NATO means losing Kaliningrad. So, to sum up - Kaliningrad, almost no army, all the trops were sent to Ukraine. Suwalki - terrain too hardcore, not much changes Russia will want to do anything there. If you add to that the fact that Kaliningrad will be destroyed the first day the war stars, then you know that there's no chance Russia will do anything from the Kaliningrad side.
I don't think underestimating Russia is a good idea. Plenty of Western generals, including Finnish, Swedish and Lithuanian ones say that Russia has plenty of assets in Kaliningrad, that's not to say that they're good soldiers as they're likely recruits, but there's still plenty of hardware in Kaliningrad that could cause issues. It won't be swiped off the map in a few seconds, and would likely hold out for at least a week according to NATO high command. While I agree that the Suwalki Gap itself is forested and full of lakes and rivers, there's still plenty of open territory around it. It's the only play that Russia can try in the area, and as we've seen in Ukraine Russians aren't exactly risk-averse, even if their plans are dumb and costly. Thanks for your input and have a good day!

I'm glad someone wrote it. There are so many mistakes in such a short video that it should never even appear on TH-cam.

Poland is already considered as a regional military leader
There is no other nation in Europe that has suffered so much throughout the centuries and was so diminished, humiliated and spat on at the same time.
I don't think any country should play the role of a leader, and I'm certainly not a nationalist. The fact is that the title of this film should be 'How Poland is Becoming a Military Powerhouse Again.'
Poland is not positioning itself as a powerhouse. We just mind the defense of the country, and we take it seriously.

I'm not sure about such amount (180) of Apache helicopters - very unlikely - maybe 64 max 96
As far as I gather, the contract stipulates that Poland has the right to buy 180, whether they'll do it or not remains to be seen, but from looking at how they've invested elsewhere it's not unlikely that they'll go for all of them.
@@MilitaryRated I believe 96 were approved and contract will be signed this year :)

I hope so. I would rank the US as Great Power ++
The US can no longer act on its own as it used to, but depends on outside help.

96! Apache's, not 180.
@@zbigniewzed5927 they are also looking at cost effective A/T-129 as a large part of that order. So probably between 36 and 48 Apache E total.
