You got the message, there's a few Queen songs that deliver the same message too but, this one is the most poignant as Freddie was dying when he wrote it, this track and the album it was off, of the same title, were released the same year as he died, I feel like it was his last attempt at giving people the message.

Love this one! Freddie’s voice got better the more sick he got (partly because he did quit smoking). He was so determined to get as much done as he could before he passed away. Nowadays, most performers won’t work if they have a freakin cold!

The song was brought about from a jam session, Freddie was ill and they wanted to create as many ideas for Freddie to sing as they could and this was one of te results, astounding masterpiece.

This song is a deliberate tip of the hat to Led Zeppelin's epic song "Kashmir". Very similar in overall style & grandiosity.
There was a mutual admiration society between the two bands, which pleases me because I've loved them both since their very beginnings.💙

Love, love this one. The whole album is a gift, he wasn’t supposed to make it that long.
I really love everything about this one. Literally gives me chills.
You are so right about the power of music in general & in particular Queen’s lyrics.
Although on this album all the songs were credited to Queen, it was written by roger & Freddie. ❤️

Awesome! Not only a band of brilliant musicians, but of deep thinkers that border on philosophical! Each member of the band was illustrated in homage to a different artist or artistic style: Freddie Mercury in homage to Leonardo Da Vinci, Brian May after victorian etchings, John Deacon in homage to Picasso and Roger Taylor after Jason Pollock. Also, the flamenco part was played by a guest musician Steve Howe.

I believe you are correct. He has another song "Don't Try So Hard". See the lyrics; listen to his superb rendition. I imagine he did it for his God children and all those coming along in life. Freddie Mercury, a beautiful messenger easy to appreciate.

Oooohhh, you did "Innuendo"!!! Yay, nice! What can I say about the song, I could talk for hours...
Well, "Innuendo" is the last of the trilogy songs with an operatic section written by the genius Freddie (see The March of the Black Queen, Bohemian Rhapsody) & Roger and it is considered the BoRha of the '90s...A real masterpiece! I still don't understand why it never had been a hit, why never had the same recognition with BoRhap... Lyrically this one is more mature which I freakin love it so much and Freddie's vocals here goes the song to other stratosphere... Generally, in Innuendo album Freddie being terminally ill, yet delivered the most powerful vocals in his whole career! Who could do that? Definitely not me, not you, not other people but only Freddie...
At that time because Freddie was literally at the death's door it was impossible to shoot a video but later he decided to film a real one. Back to the video, the band members only appear as illustrations and images, mainly taken from earlier Queen music videos...
Freddie was drawn in the style of Leonardo da Vinci, Brian in the style of Victorian etchings, Roger in the style of Jackson Pollock, and John in the style of Pablo Picasso. It is one of the darkest videos ever made... These plasticine figures and porcelain dolls always scare the hell out of me! But it's brilliantly perfect...
    I hope you liked it...

"I still don't understand why it never had been a hit..."

@@BardOfAndromeda I know that but only in England and some european countries... what I mean is that it never took the world by storm as it should be...The same with TSMGO which is by far the best song in the world...

The song was actually a no.1 hit in the UK. Queen always had a strange relationship with the US, they never really understood Queen at the time.

    • @missevellyn24
      @missevellyn24 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@ZENOBlAmusic Exactly... The US banned Queen forever after the "Break free" video... But also in other countries never reached the top... Shame isn't it? Both TSMGO & "Innuendo" deserved more...

MASTERPIECE 1991!! Thanks to Steven Howe from the rock band Yes. He played the Flamenco on a Spanish guitar. Brian May didn't know how to play the Spanish guitar well so Steve played it and then Brian came in with his hard rock version right afterwards..beautiful

Queen sing a song at 9:30 p.m. in 1985 at Live Aid. The band had performed at 6:40 p.m. but Freddie Mercury and Brian May came back around 9:30 to perform a song that it's simply just beautiful.. the words were perfectly fitting for the time and the people starving from famine in Ethiopia. Originally the song was written to put on The Works album in 1984 because they had a section on the album that needed like a two-minute song to fill the gap. Freddie and Brian quickly came up with some lyrics and music and put together a small song to feel that that and it ended up being one of the most beautiful songs ever written.
" the world we created"" ❤❤❤

    This song is a masterpiece...!!!
I love Freddie’s voice, the lyrics and the video are simply awesome.
On the cinema screen that makes up the set, Freddie appears drawn in the same style as Leonardo da Vinci, Brian in the style of Claude Monet, Roger in the style of Jackson Pollock and John in that of Pablo Picasso.
“The video also features a montage of historical images and photos, and the production company DoRo (which produced all the singles for the Innuendo album) won a Monitor award in the category "Best Achievement in a Music Video."
And the “flamenco” guitar it wasn't Brian, was Steve Howe. Steve and Freddie had been friends for several years, and was Freddie, who requested Steve to play this special part in guitar.
My dear, the entire album is amazing
But this song is called the Bohemian Rhapsody of 90th !!
    💔💔💔💔
    Big kisses to you
Live your reaction... beautiful as always!!

Nick Cave has said on a number of occasions that he feels songs in general have prophetic potential. He said it in the context of the album Skeleton Tree, written shortly before the death of his son in an accident and recorded after the tragedy. Lots of its lyrics that are hard to read otherwise than foreshadowing the event and the grief that followed. If you want to get a taste of the album, try Jesus Alone or Girl in Amber, but be warned - it's beautiful music but emotionally extremely intense.

Queen, or more accurately, Freddy Mercury is one of those musicians who leaves me spiritually conflicted. Hearing this song for the first time leaves me even more amazed with their musicianship than any of their bill board hits. I agree with you about Freddy leaving messages for future generations. The only problem I have with Freddy, like the god Pan, his powers to attract through music were too strong. I've known people who have practically worshipped Freddy or at the very least, venerate him. Though I think he's an incredible musician who's songs will influence future generations, his spirit for some will be all too enticing. In other words, that spirit he has needs to be discerned before it takes over.
