In my opinion sonic 1 on game gear clearly beats the genesis version in the music department, especially with sky base zone’s theme, along with this and jungle zone’s theme. Amazing remix of a good song
Imagine that the genesis sonic was composed by Masato Nakamura. A famous artist in Japan from the group dreams come true. And the gamegear sonic was composed by streets of rage composer, Yuzo Koshiro.
I always thought the 8-bit music for Labyrinth zone was more fitting, it gave a sense of despair and claustrophobia as you "run" through cramped underwater tunnels at a snail's pace, not knowing if you'll make it to your next breath
I disagree with jungle part however it mostly sounds generic and meh honestly. But other than that, Bridge, Scrap Brain, and Sky Base Act 2 completely rock
Being a kid who grew up with the Mega Drive version, I was always curious about the 8-bit versions of Sonic 1, especially after seeing so many differences between the all releases of the game on various websites. The first thing that struck me was how good the compositions sounded in the 8-bit versions.
my master system ;-; rest in pieces, i will remember you forever s2

This is one of my favorites Sonic song And one of the only thing I remember from the Sonic Master System game (beside the flying fortress thing that I keep game over on)
Classic Sonic running over the hills and valleys while Janet Jackson sings in the background (p.s. bridge zone sounds very similar to “Together Again” by Janet) 😊
The game is quite fun, too, especially the Master System version. It has its flaws (such as the slowdowns), but I love the level design, music and how the chaos emeralds are hidden in the stages rather than on special stages.
I have a request for you: mind if you could do either Omake 2 or Metal Squad from Thunder Force 4? I’d love to see what you can do with the SNES soundfont.
I always thought that the 8 Bit Sonic 1 was more like something that Nintendo would make, since it's more of a platformer than Sonic 1 and barely has any speed.

YES the song needed to be extended in some way already, very superior compared to the others, very powerful

I think I might be in a Sonic Game Gear / Master System craze.
This channel is just epic

Sounds like an remix ala the act 2 remixes in sonic 3, but on the SNES
This song is criminally underrated. Shame Sega didn’t use it more than once.
Tail's Theme in Sonic Adventure: (leaves the room)

It's actually a clever ripoff of Janet Jackson's Together Again
ソニックでこの曲が一番思い出に残ってて好きだ
色々と昔を思い出して泣きそう
That's so beautiful, dynamic and cool!
Woah! Awesome mix! I have the SPC as well! Awesome job! Keep it up!
Good work as always 💖✨
this is very nostalgic for me because I played this game on wii virtual console as a kid :)
This sounds like it could’ve been used in super Mario car for rainbow road since you’re using is design for the SNES sound system
Who even plays the master system these days the basically like finding a unicorn
These sound too good to be snes
This is awesome
awesome!
If this zone were in the Genesis version I'd want it to be called "River Bridge Zone".
But yeah this song is awesome. :)
When bridge zone became epic
my childhood in one remix, snes and sonic on the game gear
