I actually know a person who managed to untangle a morbidly tangled pre-owned Newton’s Cradle. A theater troupe I worked for needed one as a prop for a play, and it was crucial for it to be functional. This absolute badass of a woman took a whole night, but she prevailed. Truly an inspiration

@@Mecharnie_Dobbs It's very possible. To give a brief explanation of how it works (oversimplified, obviously), it's a more advanced form of a Newton's cradle's entire gimmick.
The when the chain of three hits the motionless ball, the momentum, aka force, pushes the three on the other side out. The lone ball also inflicts force on the other side of the motionless ball, sending it's shockwave in the other direction, but with only enough force to send the outermost ball outward.
The reason the two opposite forces don't cancel each other out is because they're acting on a still object (but one with the capacity to move), so the single ball hits, sends it's shockwave to the idle ball, who passes it along just as it gets launched away as the set of three.
You just made pendulums 1000% cooler. Not only with the music, but demonstrating the cool swing patterns you can do

I mean the impressive part here isn't how he knows the properties of Newton's cradle, it's how well he catches the rhythm of the song and associates it with different motions of the cradle. I'm sure the creator of the pendulum performed all of the showed ways to operate it, but he definitely didn't have the music talent to make such a video.

I don’t know why but watching a pendulum with Gangnam style is the best thing I’ve ever seen
Newtons pendulum has always fascinated me, I've always wanted to know how it moves like that, but I've never had the attention span or brain power to learn how it works
I think the first part of the Wikipedia article on the Newton's Cradle (Pendulum) explains it pretty well:
“The Newton's cradle is a device, usually made of metal, that demonstrates the principles of conservation of momentum and conservation of energy in physics with swinging spheres. When one sphere at the end is lifted and released, it strikes the stationary spheres, transmitting a pressure or sonic wave through the stationary spheres, thereby creating a force that pushes the last sphere upward. The last sphere swings back and strikes the nearly stationary spheres, repeating the effect in the opposite direction.”
Basically it's just a demonstration of how energy is transferred, the energy of the motion and the strike transfers through all the spheres to the opposite end. At least that's how I can explain in the simple terms my limited knowledge of Physics can understand.
Imagine how Newton would feel if he knew that approximately 300 years in the future a pendulum named after him will be used to cover the biggest meme of early 2010s.
