NH66 widening work progress.. After 2025 thalappady to trivandrum it will 6 lane road.. U can drive 100 km / h
The NH66 work in kerala to widen to 6 lane is just started in early 2023. The work is going fast and will gets completed by 2025 - 2026. So after that you will get access controlled 6 lane NH66. Now work is happening all along kerala on 500km stretch

Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan also should be given credit. This project was shelved by NHAI earlier due to difficulty in land acquisition in Kerala. Kerala CM made lot of meeting with Gadkariji and NHAI to resume the project. For the first time in Indian history a NH project is done with state govt share 25 pc of the total expense to acquire land .This benefitted people who lost the land with highest compensation in the country. State govt acquired the land efficiently within a short period of time and six laning work started by NHAI.Nitin Gadkariji praised our CM for his efforts in making this long pending project reality

yes I was about to say the same, the work is not complete, Actually there is new port building Close to Thiruvanantpuram, Hence Entire Kerala Stretch of NH66 went for lane Upgradation in 2023, and the first stretch was just integrated, and entire project is supposed to be done by 2024 end or 2025 mid. So after that road will be smooth and easy
People told me earlier coastal road after Goa is great, but reality was different!!
In Maharashtra it started more than 10 years ago, however in Kerala it seems to be a delayed start !!
While episodes are on the way, we found good stretches of road in the parts of Kochi city and Thiruvananthapuram!!
But must say, Kerala is beautiful 😍😍

Yes I know !! I found really good SHs except NH66, probably all the roads I travelled were good!! Even small lanes of Alleppy!!
@@Travidiction NH expansion got delayed for so many years due to High land price and now Kerala government agreed to pay a percentage of money for land acquisition. It is after that NH expansion came into reality.
The NH66 widening work is going on in Kerala and it will be completed in 2025. So put the blame on NHAI. Seems like you guys have got some preconceived fancy ideas about Kerala after watching the stupid propaganda movie 'Kerala Story'.
Yup, even few patches of Maharashtra are aslo having same condition!! Obviously NHAI is to be blamed, more than 12 years and the construction is still on !!!
Not really, but the name Kasargod was stuck in mind as we watched the movie about 8-10 days before our trip !!

I am a mumbai malayali, in my 24 years travel to kerala i did use this route only once and never ever use. This route is worst. I use bagalore route to reach Kochi.
Thanks for watching us !! We will continue till Kanyakumari on this route to experience it full !! After reaching Kannur we were having similar feelings, not to use this route till recovery!!

Heard you mention in the vlog that you were looking to fill 95 octane power fuel in your car. FYI HP's Power is not 95 octane but just regular 91 octane petrol with some additives added. For 95 octane you will need to refuel XP95 at Indian oil petrol pumps. And Bharat Petroleum has Speed 97. Indian oil also has XP 100 which is mighty expensive and unnecessary unless you own a super luxury car.
I stick to XP95/Power 95 / speed 97 (rarely available) in highways, as for my car recommend is 95 Octane (as per manual). Whenever that's not available I go for Power, Speed. In the city, sometimes I go for shell V power (not 95 Octane) but it has additives. However, 91 is also compliant for the car !!
Never filled XP100, I know that's not required and over priced !!
Be aware of kerala bus which is KSRTC they are rash drivers dont let any one overtake do not overtake them just caution i am fromkerala hence informed you

You feel the traffic because of the high density of cars in Kerala,. I've noticed that a lot of families in Kerala own a minimum of 2 cars.
That's true, few had multiple vehicles. In addition, infra is also getting upgraded. So, it's like many patches are single lane and slow moving vehicles make it congested !!
@@Travidiction Another thing I noticed is that even if it is a village, it does not look like one, big houses, supermarkets,, cars, cars and cars. One big stretch of semi-urban landscape. My route was from Palakad to Trivandrum.

Yes, I know but the sad part is NHAI has not completed the work since long as it started around 10+ years back. Same is condition at few stretch of Maharashtra 😢

All expenses are mentioned by end of the video. Between Karnataka & Kerala there was no visible border. We did not pass any check post !!
That toll gate is in Karnataka and after 50mtr kerala border
That's not a state entry charge, it is the normal highway toll. Expenses mentioned by end of video, I think there were total of 2 rolls in this entire route
@@Travidiction yes it's toll kranataka part of nh 66 . Nh widening in karnataka has completed in karnataka way back and that tollgate in thalappadi is for that completed section

Here is a trick to pronouns Kerala place name correctly.
When you see names with English spelling first do following substitution, then try to say rest of the name.
nj => ञ्
ng => ङ्
n => न् or ण्
zh => is letter ऴ but it not a letter used in Hindi,
so closest Hindi sound for "zh" is य् but some people use ष्
l => can be ल् or ळ् - Marathi has ळ् sound.
sh => can be श् or ष्
s => can be स् or श्
th => is always त्
dh => is almost always द्
t => is mostly ट्
d => is mostly ड्
