- This is Eagle County Road 301, also called the Colorado River Road, from Bond, CO to Dotsero, CO and is probably one of the best roads to pacing trains in the country.
The tracks are UP's Glenwood Springs Subdivision running along the Colorado River in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado.
An eastbound train parade provided an easy pacing opportunity. First up is the BNSF empty sand train, then the WB Amtrak 5 not shown, then the MGJNY Grand Junction to North Yard Denver Manifest, and behind that although not recorded was UP 8776 EB CWEAX which is featured in previous videos. The eastbound trains "climb" up a light grade ranging from 0% to 0.7%.
