Gabras are Oromos, at least linguistically. The differences in linguistics between two groups become more apparent as you move from one site to further and further away geographically. Gare, Gabra and Borana whom all inhabit similar areas speak the same language. And the Gare from South Somalia speak somewhat differently from their brethrens in Kenya and south Ethiopia.
