Can we talk about how caribena versicolor looks like a nebula? Like a beautiful space gas cloud, but also has the same color scheme as Nebula the Marvel character? Look up images of The Helix Nebula, or The Crab Nebula. Some images of The Orion Nebula shoe the same colors, too. Gorgeous magic space T.

great video kat i finally have my first pet spider which is a cross spider from my garden and i am hoping to get a few tarantulas in the future . for now i am focusing on my fish tanks and preparing for a leopard gecko.

Aww! Your C. versicolor is so beautiful. I lost my first attempt at keeping the species lately, very small sling got stuck in her molt. Seeing yours thriving gives me hope for my next attempt with the species, though I think I want to start with at least 1/2 an inch or 3/4 this time, to improve my chances. Such a gorgeous, but fragile species.

I haven’t been able to sex my C. Versi either. It melts in it’s web so it comes out in pieces. We named ours Itsy Bitsy, since it was so dang small when we got it. If yours ends up being female you should name her Pearl, because the carapace looks pearly. If it’s a male, you should name him Rufus (It was the first name that came to mind).
I love those gorgeous iridescent colours on that Caribena versicolor. Maybe Miss Beauty or Miss Bolty could be some names for her.

I like Opal too, it’s perfect. However, I think she just recently named that beautiful jumping spider that had those pretty colors, Opal. I could be wrong though.

I’ve never been big on the rubber bands, but I love the tall enclosure. There’s just something about the height that looks great. She is absolutely beautiful. As for names King Tut or just Tut because the colors make me think of a King or Jack from Nightmare Before Christmas.
I had girl names, but I changed them since we discovers he’s a male. Either way, so beautiful.

So, is it important to change the substrate monthly like reptiles or can you leave it for longer? I've watched a few of these care guides for tarantulas and they never mention how often to change the substrate.

I agree with commenters about the name nebula love it. I named my versicolor Nimue but just changed it since he ended up being male. His name is now Frank n furter.
